Background

Westbrook Studios is an American multimedia and entertainment venture company, founded on July 10, 2019 by actor and rapper Will Smith and actress Jada Pinkett Smith, in order to execute the Smith Family's global content. It is a subsidiary of Overbrook Entertainment. The company signed a first-look deal with National Geographic in 2021.

1st Logo (November 19, 2020-)

Logo: On a black background, we see a "W" in white with its leg on the top-right corner expanding to create a circle from the outside; ending near the tip, which blurs in quickly. The text "WESTBROOK STUDIOS" fades in below afterward as they slowly zoom out.

Variants:

  • An still version exists.
  • An inverted version exists.
  • On The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Reunion, the text is in a different font and "STUDIOS" is removed.
  • On Women of the Movement, the logo is next to the Roc Nation logo.

FX/SFX: The blurring and fading of the logo.

Music/Sounds: None.

Availability: Seen on Cobra Kai, starting with the third season as their subsidiary Overbrook Entertainment originally produced the first two seasons. Also seen on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air Reunion, Let the World See and Women of the Movement.

Editor's Note: It's a pretty simple effort here, but that changes with the next logo.

2nd Logo (November 19, 2021-)

Logo: On a black background, a bright light opens up, as we then rotate around to reveal the "W" symbol from before as light rays surround it. As it does this, the text "WESTBROOK" wipes in from the right emitting light rays and slowly zooms out, all behind a background of particles floating around. The light rays and particles die down as the logo turns into full color, with the particles behind seen very dimmed, before cutting to black.

Variants:

  • A shortened version exists.
  • On Welcome to Earth, it starts at the already formed logo having its light rays die down while it slightly zooms out. The background also has a cyan vignette tint to it.

FX/SFX: The light rays and the logo forming.

Music/Sounds: A filmreel sound throughout which then fades out near the end, capping off with a soft whoosh sound when the rays die down. There is also a shortened version. Sometimes it's silent.

Availability: Brand new. First seen on King Richard. It was later seen on Welcome to Earth and Bel-Air. Used in tandem with the previous one.

Editor's Note: None.
