Background
Gamigo, Inc. (known for its trade name, WildTangent) is an American game services company founded in 1998 in Bellevue, Washington, by Alex St. John and Jeremy Kenyon. The company is well known for its PC web/online games that were pre-installed for PC users who own HP, Dell, Toshiba, Gateway, Samsung, Acer, and Sony VAIO[1], like Polar Bowler, Final Drive Nitro/Fury, and the Fate series. On April 3, 2019, the company was acquired by German gaming company, Gamigo AG.[2]
Note: WildTangent used to make their games on both PC and mobile devices. However, most of their games have been discontinued, making it nearly impossible to play most of WildTangent's games from 1999-2018. It is unknown why WildTangent discontinued their games. There have been reports that WildTangent's games contained spyware, which led most of their games to be lost or missing. They now distribute games from other companies and other developers.
1st (known) Logo (2001?-Late 2000s)
Visuals: On a black background, there is "WildTangent". Next to it, there is the letter W, which somewhat looks like a spaceship. Another W flies from the bottom left-hand corner to the upper right-hand corner. Finally, the logo shines.
Variants:
- Usually, the logo would be still.
- On a promo for WildTangent "Web Driver", the W draws itself in with the text appearing afterward.
- Sometimes, the logo can be zoomed in or zoomed out.
- On later games, the flying W is in 3D and flies around the screen, while the logo appears via a wipe effect and glows purple. When the glow effect wipes away, the W reappears and flies upward.
Technique: CGI.
Audio: None. Metallic sounds for the promo variant.
Availability: Appears on many games from the company.
2nd (known) Logo (Late 2000s)
Visuals: Over a white background there is the WildTangent logo from before, but with "GAME STUDIOS" in a box underneath the text.
Variant: On some games, the logo would have the word "PRESENTS" below.
Technique: A still, computerized graphic.
Audio: None.
Availability: This was seen on WildTangent's games during that time, like Polar Pool, Fate: Undiscovered Realms, and Polar Bowler on the Nintendo DS.
