Background
World Events Productions is an American-based animation and distribution company in St. Louis, Missouri, best known for releasing the anime titles Voltron: Defender of the Universe and Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs, as well as producing the original animated series Denver, the Last Dinosaur.
1st Logo (September 10, 1984-September 2, 1988)
Nicknames: "The Voltron Logo", "The WE Globe"
Logo: Against a globe, and in a white "Arabian"/I Dream of Jeannie font, are the words "WORLD EVENTS PRODUCTIONS, LTD." with a copyright World Events Productions, Ltd. "WE Globe" (1984)underneath.
FX/SFX: None.
Music/Sounds: On Voltron, it's anominous tune. On Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs, it's the closing theme of the show.
Availability: Last seen on Voltron on Boomerang and Sony Crackle (followed by the 2005 High Tone SPT logo) as well on Saber Rider and the Star Sheriffs.
Editor's Note: The music is a bit unsettling, but there's no imagination in this logo.
2nd Logo (September 12, 1988-1990)
Logo: On a gold granite background, in a spotlight, we see the text:
A WORLD EVENTS PRODUCTION © (Year) WORLD EVENTS PRODUCTIONS, LTD.
The logo shines for a bit.
FX/SFX: The logo shining.
Music/Sounds: The ending theme of the show.
Availability: Was seen on Denver The Last Dinosaur and Vytor: The Starfire Champion, which are both on DVD.
3rd Logo (September 12, 1998-February 19, 2000)
Nickname: "The Voltron Logo II"
Logo: Superimposed In the closing credits, we see Voltron/GoLion swing his sword, causing a futuristic-looking "W" to flash in, followed by an "E" in the same World Events Productions (1998-2000)style. The words "visit Voltronforce.com" fade in above, and "A division of Koplar Communications International" is displayed below. The logo flashes once more, and the camera zooms in.
FX/SFX: The CGI Voltron/GoLion swinging his sword, and the flashing.
Music/Sounds: The end theme of Voltron: The Third Dimension.
Availability: Seen at the end of Voltron: The Third Dimension.
Editor's Note: Decent CGI for its time.
4th Logo (June 16, 2011-April 25, 2012, June 10, 2016-December 14, 2018)
Nicknames: "The Voltron Logo III", "Voltron Silhouette"
Logo: Light shining of the sword that the Voltron swings is being portrayed as the revealing light in this logo, as the Voltron makes its pose. The logo zooms out to reveal "wep" in a rounded font. "world events productions" is below it in a lowercase font.
FX/SFX: The light and the Voltron revealing an action pose.
Music/Sounds: Same as the 1st logo.
Availability: Was seen on Voltron Force on Nicktoons. Made another appearance at the end of Voltron: Legendary Defender on Netflix.
Editor's Note: The animation's a bit choppy, but the legacy is still there.
