Background

World Wide International Television is a Leeds-based television production company incorporated on July 28, 1987[1].

1st Logo (April 12, 1991-1993)

Visuals: Two wide "w"'s are stacked on one another. They are made up of five lines in a gray-dark gray pattern; the top one starts with the latter color whereas the bottom begins with the former. Underneath it is the company name.

Technique: A still, computerized graphic.

Audio: The ending theme of the programme.

Availability: Seen on the first two series of Finder's Keepers.

2nd Logo (March 22, 1993-March 12, 1995)

Visuals: Two interconnected, white "w"'s have a dark blue shadow facing the bottom right. Overlapping them is "WORLD WIDE" with a white shadow facing the same direction as the "w"'s.

Variants:

  • An in-credit variant has the logo fully in white.
    • On The Dwelling Place, the logo is in a different color scheme: the "w"'s are light blue and the box containing the company name is dodger blue.
  • On Finders Keepers, the logo is seen within the Scottish Television logo.
    • For series 4, it is seen within the ITV franchise's 1993 logo.
    • On 1996 re-prints of series 5, the logo is within the 1996 Scottish Television logo. This time, the logo is inside a dark blue box with a white outline.

Technique: A still, computerized graphic.

Audio: The ending theme of the programme.

Availability: Can be seen on some Catherine Cookson adaptations such as The Dwelling Place, The Glass Virgin, and The Gambling Man as well as series 3-4 of Finders Keepers.

3rd Logo (May 2, 1995-1998)

Visuals: On a tan wall background, the double "w"'s in sea green are written and fade in. Alongside it, WORLD WIDE wipes in from the left. After all of this, "INTERNATIONAL TELEVISION in a stacked format fade in below, followed by additional in-credit text or a channel's logo the TV show was produced for.

Variants:

  • On Oliver's Travels, this logo appears with the 1988 BBC logo.
  • On the final two series of Finders Keepers, like the previous variant, the logo is shown within the 1993 Scottish Television logo only for both logo's in-credit notices to be aligned to the right. Likewise, their logos are also placed on the left side of the screen.

Technique: 2D animation.

Audio: The ending theme of the programme.

Availability: Seen on their later productions such as the final two series of Finders Keepers and Oliver's Travels for the normal logo.
