Background

This is David Letterman's production company, founded in 1991. This is the talk show host's second production company; his first label was "Space Age Meats", who produced his first show, the morning show The David Letterman Show, back in 1980 on NBC.

1st Logo (September 30, 1991-October 3, 2019)

Visuals: On a space background, there's the following text:

WORLDWIDE
PANTS
I N C O R P O R A T E D

which appear to be made out of steel, with a planet Earth forming the "O" in "WORLDWIDE", a pair of brown pants forming the "A" in "PANTS", and the word "INCORPORATED" carved out of a block of steel.

Variants:

An extended version of this logo exists. It starts with the starry space background (with comets) and the pants flying towards the center and disappearing. Then they fly towards the center and rest at their familiar location, then the rest of the company name flies in and the "INCORPORATED" block slams in from the left and rests at its familiar spot.
- The Building used a truncated version of this, starting when the company name flies in.
On the trailer for Strangers With Candy, the logo looks more like a chalk drawing on a green surface.

Technique: CGI from Action Video.

Audio: Just the end theme of the show. On The Late Show with David Letterman, it's usually a random line from the episode.

Audio Variants:

On DVD and international prints of the season 9 Everybody Loves Raymond episode "Favors", the logo has the HBO Independent Productions sound on it due to a reverse plastering error.
The extended version has an announcer saying "Worldwide Pants proudly presents Late Night with David Letterman reruns." and when the logo is formed, "Worldwide Pants: the most trusted name in pants and entertainment and pants." A quiet, yet majestic orchestral theme is heard throughout. Sometimes, the last "and pants" is omitted.
On The Building, the announcer just says "Worldwide Pants".
On early episodes of Everybody Loves Raymond, the Where's Lunch? logo's music finishes over this logo, and is then silent.
On later episodes of Everybody Loves Raymond, a jazzy piano tune (not unlike the music cues heard on the show) plays over.
On Voroniny, the music is slowed down and low-pitched.
Original CBS airings use a generic theme.

Availability:

This was seen on The Late Show with David Letterman, The Late Late Show with Tom Snyder/Craig Kilborn/Craig Ferguson, Everybody Loves Raymond (including its Russian adaption Voroniny), and Ed.
When Craig Ferguson's Late Late Show went HD on August 31, 2009, this logo was retired for good, as the most recent syndie reruns of Raymond have this logo plastered over with the next one.
- Despite that, this can still be seen on DVD releases of Everybody Loves Raymond and international prints of the aforementioned shows from this time period.
The extended version was only seen on A&E Letterman reruns.
Neither this or the next logo appeared on Late Night with Conan O'Brien.

2nd Logo (2007-)

Visuals: Same as before, except the starfield is zooming with comets flying by and the planet is still. Also, the globe looks different than before.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: Same as the last logo.

Availability:

Currently seen on My Next Guest Needs No Introduction with David Letterman on Netflix.
However, this does not appear on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon/Seth Meyers.
It was also seen on later episodes of The Late Show with David Letterman and The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, and post-2007 syndicated prints of Everybody Loves Raymond.

3rd Logo (May 20, 2022-)

Visuals: Essentially just the printed Worldwide Pants logo on a white background, with the Earth being upside-down and the pants in beige.

Technique: A still image.

Audio: None or the closing theme.

Availability: Seen on That's My Time With David Letterman on Netflix and the TBS series Stupid Pet Tricks.
