Background

Xiaoxiang Film Studio was a Chinese independent film studio located at Changsha, Hunan. The company was established as Hunan Film Studio, then it was changed to Xiaoxiang Film Studio.

1st logo (January 1, 1980-1982?)


Visuals: On a green marble background, there is a golden text in Chinese and the plain text which pronounciation in white appear below.

Technique: Unknown

Audio: A dramatic and orchestral fanfare.

Availabilty: Seen in You ling.

2nd Logo (1983, 1993)

Visuals: On a red background, there is a silver text in Chinese (unlike the previous logo.) is seen on a blank red screen. The logo is still.

Variant: In 1993 variant, the logo is in goldenrod shine, and was in CinemaScope.

Technique: A still, printed image.

Audio: The opening theme.

Availability: Only spotted on He Long Jun Zhang (贺龙军长) and Autumn Harvest Uprising.


3rd Logo (1985-late 1980s)

Visuals: A cyan curved backward "c" draws in on a black background (or a blue background), and the "c" is drawed on the right, which forms a mirrored C. A "Y" draws inside the "C" and the dot then appears on the top of "c". The logo then forms a finished product like "CCY.", and the logo then zooms out. The orange words "Xiaoxiang Film Studio" appears below the logo.

Technique: Cel animation.

Audio: A horror-piece fanfare.

Availability: Seen in An Actress' Dream.

4th Logo (February 26, 1994)

Visuals: On a red background, two white lines begin to form a 2 striped lines, which then flashes and then clashes to form the word "Xiaoxiang Film Studio" from before, but in the Helvetica Chinese font. The logo stands for 9 seconds.

Technique: Cel animation.

Audio: The opening theme of the movie.

Availability: Spotted on Gu Long Zhen Die Ying.


5th Logo (2003)

Visuals: Just a in-credit with the Chinese translation and the words "Xiao Xiang Film Studio" in a choppy font.

Audio: The opening theme of the movie.
