Background

This was a Taiwanese film company launched by Kevin Chu, also known as Chu Yen-Ping.

1st Logo (1993-December 28, 1996)

Visuals: On a blue space background, there is an abstract silver "YP" flip in from the top of the screen, then lightning bolts form the golden text "YEN PING FILMS PRODUCTION PTELTD" with a Chinese translation above.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A powerful horn fanfare.

Availability: Hard to find inside of China or Taiwan. Two films that had this logo were Naughty Boys & Soldiers and The Feeling of Love.

2nd Logo (November 14, 1998-October 11, 2000)

Visuals: On a black/brown gradient background with searchlights moving, there is a golden filmstrip heading towards what appears to be another golden filmstrip in the circle with two rings above and below it, with the then-new Yen-Ping logo, which is "yP" in the script font inside the frames of the second golden filmstrip. The camera zooms into the canister and then back out as a golden spinning ring of Chinese characters rises up from the canister and stops when it is in full view. The camera then zooms out and the text "YEN PING FILMS PRODUCTIONS LTD" appears via flash in gold and shines.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: Some whooshes followed by the opening theme to the movie (in Lady in Heat's case, it's Carl Orff's rendition of "O Fortuna" from the Carmina Burana manuscript).

Audio Variant: In A Matter of Time, the Trimark Pictures theme plays.

Availability: Seen on an Ocean Shores VHS print of Lady in Heat and A Matter of Time.
