Background

The Yomiuri Telecasting Corporation (callsign JOIX-DTV) signed on August 28, 1958, by a number of investors, including the Yomiuri Shimbun, who spearheaded the creation of Japan's first commercial television station, the Tokyo-based Nippon Television five years prior. Based in Osaka, YTV serves as the NNN/NNS affiliate for the Kansai region and is one of the dual network's major contributors (alongside NTV), producing and/or distributing a number of programs.

Logo (2001-2007)

Visuals: On a light blue background, there is a giant ring that spins as it briefly zooms out. Then, the 1958 YTV wordmark in blue appears, while the ring is put in place. After the logo is formed the words "YOMIURI TELECASTING CORPORATION" appear before fading to black.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A aura-sounding tune with some deep-tones.

Availability: Seen on international prints of YTV titles, such as the Inuyasha films, including Affections Touching Across Time.

In-Credit Logos

1st Logo (September 5, 1959-March 31, 2007)

Visuals: There is the 1958 Yomiuri TV wordmark, containing the words "よみうりテレビ" bolded and in italics on a superimposed white font.

Technique: Superimposed animation.

Audio: The opening or ending theme of the show.

Availability: First seen on YTV's first production, Owarai chin yūden tonmatengu, however footage from that show has yet to be found.

2nd Logo (April 1, 2007-)

Visuals: There is the 2007, YTV wordmark, now being lowercased as "ytv" with a dot on the right, on a white superimposed font.

Variant: For YTV's programs aired during 2019, such as 2019-2020 episodes of Case Closed/Detective Conan, the 60th anniversary symbol used by YTV, consisting of a Japanese fan with the word 60 being engraved onto it was added to accompany the 2007 YTV logo.

Technique: Superimposed animation.

Audio: The opening or ending theme of the show.

Availability: First seen on YTV productions such as 2007 episodes of Case Closed/Detective Conan.
