Background

Zentropa Entertainments is a Danish film company founder by filmmaker Lars von Trier and producer Peter Aalbæk Jensen. It has produced over 70 feature films and has become the largest film production company in Scandinavia. It owns a number of subsidiary companies in Europe. Zentropa is also responsible for creating a large studio complex called Filmbyen (Film City), where both Zentropa and many other film-related companies are located. Zentropa is named after the train company in Von Trier's film Europa.

1st Logo (October 11, 1993)

Visuals: Over a tunnel, there is a locomotive passing by. While passing by "ZenTROpA" appears in arched format with each letters being a paper. "enTERtaiNments" then appears letter-by-letter below it.

Technique: Live action and 2D digital animation.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen on Michael Laudrup - En Fodboldspiller.

2nd logo (1996-present)

Visuals: A "Z" formed by a dark teal-blue triangle positioned within a light-gray/white square. Above the logo, the company name "ZENTROPA" is shown, "ENTERTAINMENTS" appears below the logo.

Variant: On some trailers, there is no text above or below the logo.

Technique: A still graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen on a few Zentropa films, such as Breaking the Waves. Most of their films opt for solely a credit, as well as a print logo at the end.
