Background

5 Stars was a film production company from Egypt.

1st Logo (February 20, 1996-December 27, 2000)

Visuals: On a black background, the blue abstract number "5" fades in. Afterwards, five light blue stars form at the left side one by one, and a light blue filmstrip, containing the text "S T A R S, forms in a trail below. Once the formation is done, two halves of the light blue Arabic company name " مايـف سـتـارز للسينما والفيديو" slide in from both ends of the screen and place themselves below the filmstrip.

Variants:

  • On Dentelle, the logo had a different animation: it starts with the completed logo but the "5" is gold, the filmstrip is red, and the number, filmstrip, and stars slowly zoom out when the logo begins. The company name in Arabic wipes in below the logo when finished, and following this is the arabic text "تقــدم" wiping in below from top to bottom.
  • On Red Rose, the logo is still.
  • An in-credit version has the logo fully white and superimposed.

Technique: Computer animation.

Audio: Two tracks were used:

  • A majestic synth melody that starts with a gong.
  • An upbeat synth-orchestral tune.

Availability:

  • The standard logos were seen in Lobster and Dentelle.
  • The still logo is only seen on Red Rose.
  • The in-credit version was seen in the trailer for Lobster.

2nd Logo (January 15, 2005)

Visuals: On a sky background, the huge number "5" flies out. Following this, are 5 stars flying out to the top of the "5". The camera pans closer to the number "5". After that, a flimstrip containing the same text as the last logo appears. Finally, the Arabic text containing the company name wipes from the right.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A swoosh and a guitar tune.

Availability: Only seen on الباحثات عن الحرية.
