Background

AG Properties was founded by American greeting card manufacturer American Greetings in 1981 to control the IP for Strawberry Shortcake and Holly Hobbie, and eventually expanded to include several more IPs including the Care Bears, The Get Along Gang and Popples, among others.

1st Logo (March 11, 2003-February 28, 2009)

Visuals: Just the American Greetings logo of the time on a white background, casting a shadow across the background. The logo consists of an abstract red rose drawing, with the text "AMERICAN GREETINGS" below in Basilea.

Technique: A still, digital graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: Appears on the DIC Entertainment Strawberry Shortcake series and on Sushi Pack as well.

2nd Logo (August 31, 2003-October 5, 2005)

Visuals: On a sky blue background, a large rounded rectangle outline is seen colored with diagonal multi-colored bars. In the center of the screen, the American Greetings logo, with the rose in-between the wordmark, is shown with its tagline "..says it best®" in the bottom right. At the bottom of the border, licensing and copyright information is seen. The rose rotates around one full rotation, and then stops just as the screen fades to white.

Technique: CGI-rendered sprite animation.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen on Care Bears: Care-a-Lot Jamboree, Care Bears: Catch-a-Star and Care Bears: Have a Ball! for PC and Mac.

3rd Logo (October 2006)

Visuals: The American Greetings logo fades in on a black background, with the rose rendered in CGI. It twists and jumps high while spinning around, landing with a soft bounce before resting in place.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen on Strawberry Shortcake: Strawberryland Games for Nintendo DS.

4th Logo (September 15, 2009-February 5, 2016)

Visuals: The American Greetings wordmark, but without the "I" in "GREETINGS", fades in on a white background, as well as a all-red magician character with a top hat and cape above it. He raises his head up and, using the "I" as a magic wand, waves it out, producing a batch of star-shaped, light blue sparkles. He then rapidly spins around, fading to the rose logo as he throws the "I" and it lands into place, bouncing once as it does.

Technique: CGI and 2D computer animation.

Audio: A four-note chiptune tune, followed by a boing sound.

Audio Variants:

  • Sometimes, the end theme plays over it or none.
  • On Maryoku Yummy, high-pitched ascending sparkles are heard, followed by four crystallized notes. This is actually based on a musical cue that plays when the wishes disappear and get granted.

Availability: Seen on The Strawberry Shortcake Movie: Sky's the Limit, The Twisted Whiskers Show, Maryoku Yummy, Packages from Planet X, Strawberry Shortcake's Berry Bitty Adventures, Care Bears: Welcome to Care-a-Lot, and Care Bears & Cousins.
