Background

In 1991, the game subsidiary of ASCII Corporation, Nexoft was renamed to ASCII Entertainment Software, Inc.. As time goes on, the company begins separating from the main company in 1998, with all operations being renamed to Agetec. During the early 90s, many games were published under the Asciiware software label.

1st Logo (1992-1993)

Logo: On a space background, we see a light blue gradient rectangle. The text "ASCiiWARE" types in over the rectangle.

Variant: A still version exists.

Technique: 2D sprite animation.

Music/Sounds: None, or the opening theme of the game.

Availability: Seen on the PC and the unreleased SNES game of Spellcraft, the SNES game of Spindizzy Worlds and the Genesis game of Pro Moves Soccer.

2nd Logo (1995-1996)

Logo: On a black background, we see a blue flash that consists of falling letters. The falling letters morph to the ASCII logo, while pieces form the text "{{color|blue|ENTERTAINMENT". Then the light shines and the logo flashes.

Technique: Early CGI animation.

Music/Sounds: None, until the end, when we hear a male voice saying the company name.

Availability: Seen on the PlayStation games of King's Field and King's Field II.

3rd Logo (1997-1999)

Logo: On a black background, we see a huge fire that forms the ASCII Entertainment logo from the previous logo in 2D.

Variant: A still version exists on a white or black background.

Technique: Live-action.

Music/Sounds: A sound of a fire. The still version is silent, or has the opening theme of the game.

Availability: Seen on several ASCII Entertainment games from the era, like Clock Tower, R-Types, Felony 11-79 and the Nintendo 64 game of AeroGauge.
