AVID:Featured Media Nominations
Shortcut: |
---|
Featured media are images and videos determined by the community to be significant, rare or otherwise interesting logo finds. These aren't your ordinary film, television or home video logos. Featured images appear in the gallery on the main page. On this page users can nominate images to be featured and vote on candidates to receive this distinction.
How to use this page:
Click "Nominate", fill out the fields and submit your nomination. Users will then be able to vote in support or opposition to the image being featured. if an image or video recieves at least a support:oppose ratio of 2:1 (two thirds majority), it passes and the proper template is added by a bureaucrat.
We discourage submitting logos solely based on its visuals. All media need to be significant to the community in terms of obscurity.
Etiquette:
Please remain civil while using this page. Per site rules and the policy, please refrain from personal attacks when discussing these images and assume good faith.

WGBH (1968) (From - the Flick Out episode Ron Finley).png
Reason: There has been very little information regarding WGBH logos used during the 50's and 60's (the only known logo prior to this recent discovery by Squidy, I assume, was an in-credit logo). Today, this oddity has been uncovered on the Flick Out episode "Ron Finley", three years before their infamous 1971 logo was reportedly adopted. It comes to show how hidden and unknown WGBH logos in its heyday were. Discoveries such as this makes us wonder if there are earlier logos adopted by WGBH, let alone animated/standalone ones.

Walt Disney Feature Animation's first logo

Reason: The first official logo for Walt Disney Feature Animation. An interesting variant of the 86 movie logo. Appeared on the internal documentary Walt Disney's Animazing Features: Sixty Years of Feature Length Animation Production. David's Logo Archive (talk) 8:41 AM, 20 August 2024 (GMT+4)

Reason: Odd looking one-off logo for WBTV here. Was only used in the 1997 France 2 two-part christmas special Noël Chez Bugs Bunny and Opération Bugs Bunny. And I thought the 2003 WB Italia logo looked off . David's Logo Archive (talk) 1:27 AM, 11 August 2024 (GMT+4)

First Renaissance Pictures logo (Circa 1982)

Reason: This one is mind blowing. My discovery was the biggest surprise I found, I found this logo 100% unknown when I was watching a recording of a behind-the-scenes report of the 1981 cult classic The Evil Dead, which was broadcast on news program "PM Magazine", it appears at 0:46 of the video (https://youtu.be/rtYkOlOMwsc?si=G2gZexDddJTvaqz6) (NOTE: I found the video on a wiki page about the entire production of The Evil Dead, and the video itself was unlisted, so hence the obscurity) and for thd god's sake I found myself jumping out of fright at this, as I always dreamed of seeing the real first RP logo, and here it is, it had actually existed in a once and it was hidden right under our noses! Unfortunately we don't know if it was used anywhere else, we don't even know if it was used as a logo print! I will consider this as a jewel logo!

Reason: This variant of the CPB circle is an odd one, and honestly, I haven't seen any other program that has this.
