Emergency Alert System screens on the wiki?
This is a rather odd RfC, but I feel like adding EAS screens would work as audiovisual identity. The only problem is the sounds are the same, but the visuals are different. Ideas and revisions welcome!
Implementation
Adding these will be a very simple process. The key points are:
- The section will be named Emergency Alert Systems, like the YouTube video category.
- Pages will be sorted by alert system and country (i.e EAS, AlertReady, EBS). A page for custom TV slides will be created.
- Entries will be sorted by location for EBS, EAS Slides, and Local Access Alerts. All others will be sorted by encoder, i.e EASyPLUS or VDS.
- Audio sections will not use "same as (x)" templates.
- No fake EAS alarms are allowed, and tight restrictions will apply.

Support
- Support koolaidmanohyeah.mp3. Anyways, with the wide variety of design in EAS screens and slides, I don't see why we can't include them on the wiki! Here's a few additional ideas I have for this:
- Seeing as how warning screens primarily cover anti-piracy notices and other disclaimers, maybe we could make a new category to cover them, perhaps named something like "emergency screens"?
- Maybe we could also cover the EBS as well along with other warning systems from around the world like emergency override systems for cable TV or Canada's Alert Ready? We definitely would need to watch out for all those fake "EAS alarm" vids and sounds though.
- For television stations, maybe we could put them in a dedicated tab like with their bumpers?
- Some parts of the descriptions for these admittedly might be a bit tricky at times, though, as a few alerts for the EAS I've seen were done through audio-only, and in the case of emergency override systems, not only are some of them both on YouTube and what's been reported audio-only, but some also have frantic static screens or completely blank screens in general, so that might need some figuring out. Other than that, though, I'm all for these being included on the wiki! StarlightFantasy (talk) 14:39, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
- I totally agree, and I feel like the EAS, EBS, Local Access Alerts, etc should be their own pages, with locations (for EBS, Local Access Alerts), or encoder companies/variants (EAS, AlertReady). Fake EAS videos are EASY to point out. First of all, I'm not adding sirens, as they are purely audio. Most of these videos use sirens only. YouTube has a category called "Emergency Alert Systems", so lets use that. A special page for EAS slides would be recommended and sorted by location. - Support It's about time this showed up on the RfC page. Logoarto (talk) 15:05, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
- Support As someone who has had a sporadic, but consistent interest in emergency screens, and considering the scope of the wiki in mind, EAS screens fit nicely within our motto. There is audiovisual elements in these screens that can compare them to the look and style of TV and home media bumpers, among others. There are even plenty that have either a channel or organization logo. Camenati (talk) 15:46, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
- Support I feel like this would make a great addition to the site. I love the EAS/EBS, though despite the header sounds that they play are "scary", plus the fact that there are so many different variant-[SAME Header sounds] -- 16:11, 2 May 2024 (UTC)

- Support Definitely a good inclusion on the Wiki. Though implementation may be a little tricky due to all the variants and differences, I'm sure something can be sorted out for that. Luke2505 (talk) 17:58, 3 May 2024 (UTC)

Comments
- Comment: A potential implementation would be like the Home Video Bumpers pages, pages by country and sections by screen. However it won't be 1st 2nd or 3rd, but would just be sections. (That guy who edits the Disney Home Video Bumpers pages) 14:23, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
- Comment: Look, I'm going to be neutral about this, but I'm still in doubt whether I should Accept or Reject this RfC, because... I don't know, it's a bit off about that. Tortuga Tonta Prods. (AKA Mr. Vadimon) (Formerly TPatKB) (this is my, yes, MY talk page) 16:13, 30 April 2024 (UTC)
- Comment: I'm just wondering how we are going to describe the SAME header sounds without any repeats. I wonder if it would be like this: "Audio: The SAME header (it would be linked to an audio file of the header), followed by the Attention Signal (per the SAME header), and then alert details, followed by the EOM tone (also linked)" 11:32, 6 May 2024 (UTC)
