Considering the recent introduction of the tracking categories have spread across various articles on the site, despite no proposal on this idea, there should be categories for visual-sourced logos. For example, Enterprise Producciones S.A. sourced its footage from the Prism Entertainment logo or Deraco Productions has footage from Terminator 2: Judgement Day. If there are music tracking categories, why not visual-based ones?

#Strong Yes, because we already have categories for stock templates (itself a form of visual tracking). We should be going full-scale with that. SnowflakesOmega (talk) 14:21, 28 November 2022 (UTC)

#strongest With all the new tracking categories being made and as I suggested on Discord, I think some guidelines on tracking categories could definitely be needed , as I can easily see pages being inundated with categories that either few would find useful, are redundant or too overly specific for their own good, or generally drag the wiki's quality down. Definitely ban opinionated categories too while we're at it. HibiscusCrown20 (talk) 04:30, 28 November 2022 (UTC)

#Support There is a risk of people creating trivial or opinionated tracking categories. The tracking categories that I created all have a good reason: for example, there are a tracking category for Cascom and Keith Mansfield because of a significant number of logos that use these sources.

I don't think that there is a good case for tracking categories for logos that rip off other logos, because (1) we cannot expect producers to have big budgets like in Hollywood, (2) many logos came from a time before Blender was a serious competitor to 3ds Max, and (3) there is a potential for confusion with stock footage and library music.

Likewise, I use "Logos with popular music" instead of "Logos that stole music" because (1) a producer may have got permission to use the soundtrack, (2) some of the music may be royalty free under certain conditions, and (3) we cannot expect producers to have big budgets like in… err… Hollywood. --Pingu (talk) 19:19, 2 December 2022 (UTC)
