Background

Active (aka Active Software) was an adult game brand owned by Societa Co., Ltd in Shibuya, Tokyo. The brand ceased operations in 2005.



1st Logo (November 8, 1991-June 6, 1992)

Visuals: On a black background, a white rectangle fades in and then turns into a lavender gradient with the text "Active", an underline and "software" emerging from it. The logo then fades out after a few seconds.

Technique: Computer animation.

Audio: A rising beam-like sound.

Availability: Seen on the earliest PC-98 games from the company, those being Hana Yori Dango, Quiz Banchou, and Mahjong Gensoukyoku.

2nd Logo (October 10, 1992-April 14, 1995)

Visuals: On a black background, a white line streak quickly reveals the text design from before, and then it fully appears by fading in as a glowing purple outline.

Technique: Computer animation.

Audio: Same as before.

Availability: Seen on PC-98 games by the company produced during this period, those being Sweet Angel, Hana Yori Dango 2, all the main three games of the If series, Mahjong Gensoukyoku II, Mahjong de Pon!, Gakuen Bomber, and Gun Blaze.

3rd Logo (August 25, 1995-July 12, 1996)

Visuals: On a white background, a blue square containing a diagonal and vertical line forming the arc of an "A" is shown alongside a green streak extending out towards the right. Next to the square, there is the rest of the word "CTIVE", and the small text "Software Create" above aligned to the right.

Technique: A still digital graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen on PC-98 games by the company produced during this period, those being Sakura no Mori, Mahjong Gensoukyoku III, Kusuriyubi no Kyoukasho, and Hanafuda de Pon!.

4th Logo (October 17, 1996-April 11, 1997)

Visuals: On a black background, a rectangle with a stone texture is shown containing the logo design from before, with "Software Create" embossed on the rectangle, and the "CTIVE" text being more bold.

Technique: A still digital graphic.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen on the last PC-98 games by the company, those being Angel Halo and Misato-chan no Yume Nikki.
