Background
Adams Filmi was a Finnish film production and distribution company founded by Finnish film producer Abel Adams in 1912. After Abel died, his wife became the head of the company, and eventually to their daughter Felicia Adams in 1958. The company later merged with Fenno-Filmi, eventually becoming Fennada Filmi, which is later bought by Yle in 1982. The company name ceased to exist in 1986 when it merged with O.Y. Kinosto and and Ky Kino Savoy to form Finnkino.
(21 September 1951-20 November 1964)
Logo: On a black screen, we see a 20th Century Fox-like structure with the name "ADAMS". Below it, a tridimensional-like pedestal with the inscription "FILMI" wipes down, fully forming the Adams Filmi's emblem. Then, the text in Finnish wipes in.
Variants:
- Numerous in-credit variants exist where the logo is superimposed against the opening scene or credits. Below the logo contains the text "esittää förevisar" either in a serif font or a brush font.
- On trailers, the text below the emblem says "TULEVA ENSI-ILTA NÄSTA PREMIÄR", roughly translating to "UPCOMING PREMIERE".
- On Hopeaa rajan takaa and Juokse kuin varas, the logo is completely still.
Technique: Rostrum camera.
Music/Sounds: A majestic orchestral fanfare.
Music/Sounds Variant: The theme is lower-pitched on the trailer for Juokse kuin varas.
Availability: Ultra rare. The standard variant is currently unknown (or possibly completely extinct), the trailer variant can be seen in trailers of some films, such as Kaasua, Komisario Palmu!, Hopeaa rajan takaa, and Juokse kuin varas. and the in-credit variant can be seen on Tukkijoella, Asessorin naishuolet, and Sotapojan heilat.
