Background

Angel Studios was a San Diego, California-based game developer founded in 1984 by Colombian entrepreneur Diego Angel. Originally providing animation and VFX services for film and television (most notably the 1992 New Line Cinema film The Lawnmower Man), the studio completed its first game in 1998. Their work on Midtown Madness for PC landed Angel a partnership with Take-Two's Rockstar Games label, which eventually resulted in the Midnight Club series. In November 2002, Take-Two acquired the studio and merged it into the Rockstar family under the San Diego banner, forming "Rockstar San Diego".

'Visuals: A lens flare is seen shining with the company name ("angel" in a bold orange serif font with "studios" in a silver rounded font set below the former word and beside of the ""g") swinging in. The lens flare reveals an angel drawing in gray and blurred. "Interactive Entertainment" in a cursive font then fades in below.

2nd Logo (April 30, 1999)

Visuals: A purple spark is seen flying around as the company name swings in like the previous logo (with "studios being colored purple). 3rd Logo (September 21, 2000-August 21, 2001)
