Background

Asia Television Limited (亞洲電視有限公司) is a digital media and broadcasting company in Hong Kong. Established as the first television service in Hong Kong as Rediffusion Television (麗的電視) on 29 May 1957, it shifted to terrestrial television on 30 November 1973, and was renamed Asia Television on 24 September 1982. ATV operated two main over-the-air channels: the Cantonese-language ATV Home and the English-language ATV World.

On 1 April 2015, Hong Kong's Executive Council announced that ATV's broadcast license would not be renewed. ATV's channels ceased over-the-air transmission on 1 April 2016. ATV announced that it planned to continue its business as a digital and satellite broadcaster. Plans for the company's subscription-based internet content streaming operations were announced in December 2017.

1st Logo (1977?-1982?)

Visuals: Superimposed over a ending credits is a RTV print logo. Underneath, the Chinese text are seen below on the logo.

Technique: A still, printed image.

Audio: The ending theme to the show, or none.

Availability: The other variants of this logo has been plastered by the 2010s ATV endcap logos; it is preserved on The Man in a Cage (危險人物) (1978).

1st Logo (1982?-1989)

Visuals: Just a superimposed ATV print logo, with Far East Group-like coin and the Chinese name below. Most of the time, the English text may be seen below on the logo. Underneath, there is a copyright stamp seen over the company name.

Technique: A still, printed image.

Audio: Again, the ending theme of the show.

Availability: Like the first logo, the other variants of this logo has been plastered by the 2010s ATV endcap logos; it is preserved on Tiger Hill Trail (再向虎山行) (1983) and The Legend Continues (霍東閣) (1984).

2nd Logo (1989-Early 2010s?)

Visuals: Again, superimposed over ending credits is a new ATV print logo, with abstract windmill and the Chinese translation below. Most of the time, the English text may be seen below on the logo. Underneath, a copyright stamp is seen on the company name.

Technique: A still, computerized graphic.

Audio: Again, the ending theme of the show.

Availability: Most of other variants of this logo has been plastered by the 2010s ATV endcap logos, but it can be found on original prints of Thunder Knight (霹靂神將) (1989), Bloodshed Over The Forbidden City (滿清十三皇朝之血染紫禁城) (1990), and The Snow is Red (雪花神劍) (1997).

3rd Logo (Early 2010s?-2015?)

Visuals: On a white background, a 2010s ATV logo is seen on the bottom on the screen, with Chinese characters and a English name below. Underneath, the copyright stamp and the website URL (http://www.hkatv.com) is seen below.

Technique: A still, digital graphic.

Audio: Again, the ending theme of the show. Sometimes, it's silent.

Availability: This logo is infamous known for plastering older Asia Television logos as well as Rediffusion Television logos. Since 2019 on the OTT-era, this logo is no longer in use.
