Background

Aurum Producciones S.A.U., a theatrical distributor, distributes films in Spain. The company was founded in 1994 and is based in Madrid, Spain. Aurum Producciones S.A.U. operates as a subsidiary of Entertainment One Ltd, until it was folded into its parent company in 2013. It is named after a Latin name for the chemical element, gold.

1st Logo (1995-1998)

Nickname: "Bluerum I"

Logo: We fade to a blue background. A huge "R" fades in, then the whole screen zooms out to reveal that the background is actually a rectangle with the other letters of the "AURUM" name moving into their positions. An oval with an "A" is seen behind with a moving light illuminating it. The light stops moving and other lights come out of the letters of the name, one-by-one following the last fanfare notes.

FX/SFX: Everything.

Music/Sounds: A triumphant fanfare.

Availability: TBA.

Editor's Note: None.

2nd Logo (1998-2013)

Nickname: "Bluerum II"

Logo: On a blurry blue background with a film countdown timer, we see the 3D letters of "AURUM" being sketched in one-by-one. On the background, the countdown timer fades out and the letters of the company name move in. A transparent oval fades in flipping and the letter "A" gets sketched on it. The letters of AURUM flash one-by-one below the logo and the transparent rectangle behind them is formed by two flashing lines.

FX/SFX: The sketching effects, objects turning, the flashing, moving and background elements. This is great CGI for 1998.

Music/Sounds: A series of whooshes, followed by another triumphant fanfare.

Availability: Current. Seen on Spanish prints of international and some US movies.

Editor's Note: None.
