Background

B. Subhash Movie Unit was an Indian film company founded by Indian director, producer and screen writer Babbar Subhash, who is known for his film collaborations with Bollywood actor Mithun Chakraborty.

1st Logo (1982-1984)

Nickname: "The Disco Dancer Logo"

Logo: The logo consists of a photo of a couple dancing in a disco. Below them, we see this text:

Variant: In Kasam Paida Karne Wale Ki, "PRESENT" is omitted.

2nd Logo (1985-1999)

Nicknames: "The "Disco Dancer" Logo II", "Disco Dancer, Disco Dancer (x6)", "The Disco Logo", "The Coolest Universal Pictures Ripoff Ever"

Logo: There are two versions of this logo.

  • 1985-1987: We see a golden statue representing the couple dancing from the previous logo. The statue is on a dark background with a lot a colorful lights moving around the logo. Then, "B. SUBHASH MOVIE UNIT" appears below the statue.
  • 1987-1999: Same as the previous variant, but the statue is over a spinning globe. This time, the name of the company appears in white.

FX/SFX: The lights, the globe and the text.

Music/Sounds: A fragment from the song "I Am A Disco Dancer"*, from the first film from the company, Disco Dancer.

Availability: Seen on The Adventures of Tarzan, Dance Dance, Aaj Ke Angaarey, Love Love Love and Dulhan Manu Bain Teri.
