Visuals: On a black background, white text in Futura scrolls up and stops at the center. It reads: "IN THE UNLIKELY EVENT OF ANY PICTURE INTERFERENCE, PLEASE ADJUST YOUR VIDEO RECORDER'S TRACKING CONTROL. THIS WILL, IN MOST CASES, RECTIFY BOTH SOUND AND PICTURE QUALITY."

Variants:

• Starting in late 1997, the text was reformatted and the font was changed to Gill Sans.
• On both Keeping Up Appearances: Rural Retreat and Gardeners World Pocket Guide: House Plants and Winter Colour, it cuts in and fades out instead of scrolling up.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: None.

Availability: Seen on 1990s VHS releases of BBC shows.

• The 1997 variant also made an appearance on the 2013 DVD release of the Doctor Who episode "The Ice Warriors" as part of the "VHS Links" bonus feature, due to it being taken from the 1998 VHS master.
• This does not appear on the start of Full Circle with Michael Palin: Episode 7-10, which instead has the warning screen's closing variant appear on it's own.
