Background

Bell Globemedia was founded in 2000 when Bell Canada Enterprises acquired CTV Inc. and newspaper The Globe and Mail, and merged them together. On July 12, 2006, Bell Globemedia announced it would take over CHUM Limited, and the company was renamed to CTVglobemedia on January 1, 2007. The acquisition was completed on June 22, 2007.

Logo (2001-December 31, 2006)

Visuals: On a moving blue background, there is a bright light on the top left corner of the screen, which disappears quickly to show the 1994-2008 Bell logo spinning slowly. When the logo is done spinning to the center-left of the screen, the words "Bell Globemedia" blur in quickly.

Variants:

  • There is a short version of this logo.
  • On a TSN SportsCentre airing, a very short version of this logo is used.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: The theme from the 1998-2011 CTV rebrand, with some whooshes.

Availability: This was seen on various programming from Bell Globemedia, such as CTV News, Canada AM, and Good Morning Canada.
