Background
CHUM Television was a division of CHUM Limited, the former owners of Citytv, MuchMusic, and Space, among others. On July 12, 2006, Bell Globemedia announced an acquisition of CHUM, with the company being renamed to CTVglobemedia on January 1, 2007. The Citytv stations were sold off to Rogers Communications. The deal was completed on June 22, 2007.
1st Logo (2001-December 7, 2007)
Visuals: On a black background, there is a rapidly flashing purple square in the middle of the screen. The word "CHUM" in a large font flips letter by letter, with the spaced-out word "T E L E V I S I O N" below.
Variant: Sometimes, the logo omits the flashing square and would have some text below.
Technique: Live-action coupled with computer animation.
Audio: The end theme of the program.
Availability: Seen at the end of programming on CHUM properties, such as CityPulse Tonight, the MuchMusic Video Awards, and promotional videos for their digital specialty channels.
2nd Logo (2006-June 22, 2007)
Visuals: Same as the CHUM Motion Pictures logo, but the logo is sped up, and the text below says "T E L E V I S I O N". A copyright stamp can appear below the logo.
Technique: Same as the CHUM Motion Pictures logo.
Audio: Same as before.
Availability: Seen on CP24 shows and also seen at the end of CityPulse Tonight and MuchOnDemand. This wasn't used for long before CTV bought CHUM out and sold Citytv to Rogers.
