Background

CTB Film Company is a Russian film company founded on January 4, 1992 by Sergei Selyanov, Vasily Grigoriev and Alexey Balabanov. The company didn't have an animated on-screen logo until 1997.

(June 6, 1997-April 24, 2014)

Logo: On a black background, we see a statue of a girl sitting and sewing (the statue is actually a decoration called "The Little Embroiderer"/"Маленькая вышивальщица"). The statue slowly rotates. "КИНОКОМПАНИЯ" and "FILM COMPANY" appear at the top (shaped like a circle) and "СТВ" appears on the bottom. A blue dot appears and glows between "КИНОКОМПАНИЯ" and "FILM COMPANY". The dot disappears after a while.

Variant: On Chudnaya dolina (2004) and Okolofutbola (2013), the logo is cut to the point when the logo is already formed, and when the dot appears.

FX/SFX: The statue rotating, the words appearing, the dot glowing.

Music/Sounds: A dramatic orchestral piece, which is actually an excerpt of "Romance" from the "Lieutenant Kijé" suite by Sergei Prokofiev.

Music/Sounds Variant: On Chudnaya dolina, none.

Availability: Seen on their movies of the period starting with Brother (1997). This logo last appeared on Dialogs (Диалоги) (2014).

Editor's Note: None.
