Background

The Central Television of the USSR was the state television broadcaster of the Soviet Union.

Soviet TV programming was highly diverse. Like much of the Soviet media, CT USSR regularly promoted the agendas of the Communist Party. Initially, the service was operated, together with the national radio service, by the Ministry of Culture. Later it was operated by the Gosteleradio committee, under the Communications Ministry and the Information and Press Ministry, and later a Council of Ministers-controlled network of television and radio broadcasting.

1st (Known) Logo (1950s)

Logoː On a Dark Brown Background, we see a Satellite Tower inside a Dark White Square with 3 Black Bars (2 on the Left & 1 on the Right), having white circle outlines expanding on the tower. We see white text shown below it in Russian, which is probably the Company Name. 6 Seconds in, it Disappears & it reappears. It finally fades out after 20 Seconds.

Triviaː The Tower is similar to the Ostankino Tele Tower found in the Company Studio, which stood 540.1 m (1,772.0 ft).

FX/SFXː The outlines of the circle & the sudden fade out.

Music/Soundsː A 50's Orchestra, while an announcer in Russian speaks throughout the logo.

Avaiabilityː Extinct.

Editor's Noteː A bit simple, but okay for the time.

2nd Logo (1960s?)

One of the Badges shown.

Logoː We first see a badge with the big Soviet Symbol in front on what looks like the current Shell logo. It has white text at the ribbon. It then switches to 15 more badges which both have the Soviet Symbol. It then switches to some Russian Guy & then switches to part of a tower against a gray background which includes Russia in white & have the Soviet flags from all countries. It then switches to unknown flags waving before the camera moves down to a sign with Russian Text.

FX/SFXː Animation & Live-Action.

Music/Soundsː An old Orchestra, followed by an announcer.

Avaiabilityː Extinct.

3rd Logo (1987-1990?)

Logoː On a white/light blue background, we see a star that has a tall top, followed by the text "TB CCCP" (Short for Soviet Central Television, the Soviet State Broadcaster). Then, rings come out of the edge of the star & expand.

FX/SFXː The rings expanding.

Music/Soundsː A Trumpet Fanfare.

Availabilityː Extinct. Was only used as a Sign-Off, specifically for the end of the company (which became Channel 1 Russia later on).
