Background
Home video division of pornographic film company Caballero Control Corporation. It was also the former parent company of U.S.A. Home Video (now Artisan Entertainment), which was divested from the company in 1986 as Carolco Pictures purchased Caballero's remaining stocks in the company.
1st Logo (Early 1980s)
Logo: On a black background, three diagonal lines, with the CCC Home Video logo between the first and second lines and the text "CABALLERO CONTROL CORPORATION HOME VIDEO" ("VIDEO" contains blue, yellow, and red stripes in the middle) in the other space zooms downward to the screen.
FX/SFX: The zooming.
Music/Sounds: None.
Availability: Can be seen on old adult films from the era.
Editor's Note: None.
2nd Logo (Mid 1980s)
Nickname: "C's of Doom"
Logo: Against a space background with stars slowly shooting forth, we see a blue object zooming forth. They turn upward to reveal itself to be three C's arranged somewhat like this:
C
C
The middle C is being overlapped by the other two. The C's then split into two and disappear from both sides of the screen. Then, the blue text
CABALLERO C O N T R O L ---C O R P O R A T I O N HOME VIDEO spins in from the distance. It then fades out.
Variant: There exists a version with a copyright date at the beginning.
FX/SFX: The text animation and the moving stars.
Music/Sounds: It starts off with an eerie bass humming sound, which is joined by a rising synth chord. It's followed by a "crash" when the C's split up, and ends with a loud, dramatic synth stinger.
Availability: Can be seen on old adult films from the era.
Editor's Note: None.
