Background

The California Film Commission was founded in 1985 by then California governor George Deukmejian to act in an economic development capacity for the state. It is a part of the California Trade and Commerce Agency, formerly the Business, Transportation, and Housing Agency. Its purpose is to enhance California's position as the location of choice for motion picture, television and commercial production.

Logo (September 22, 2016-April 28, 2017)

Visuals: On a black background, there is a white ticket, having the golden text reading "CALIFORNIA" on the right side, which was turned around to make room for an line, with the text "FILM" having the "I" multiple lines. Under it is another line, that has the text under it "COMMISSION" in grey. On top of the ticket is the caption "The State of California and The California Film Commission".
