Background

In 1996, FilmFour International changed its name to Channel Four Films for a short time.

Logo (May 24, 1996-1999)


Visuals: On a dark background, filled with greenish sun blinks is the white text "CHANNEL FOUR FILMS" slowly zooming in. Then, the left side of a big "4" zooms from beyond and takes "FOUR" inside, making it black. The number is made from two bars and a dot.

Variant: A shortened version exists, which appears on Brassed Off.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A dark but good ambient soundtrack with ascending booming near to the end.

Availability:

  • It appears on Brassed Off, A Midsummer Night's Dream, and Secrets & Lies.
  • It also originally appeared on the 1998 film Croupier, but subsequent releases (even the earlier DVD releases) plaster it with the Film4 logos.
  • It was also seen again on an unknown film in 1999.
