Background

Connexion Film was a German film distributor based in Hamburg and headed by Willi Baer.[1]

Logo (1991?-?)

Visuals: On stage in front of a curtain, a cartoon bear dressed as a magician appears, shone by a spotlight. The bear walks towards the camera, lifts his hat and bows. He then rolls his hat down to his hand, and the hat sparkles, turning into a wand. The bear uses the wand to summon the logotype "CONNEXION FILM" in silver, with "C" and "M" connected, forming a line below the other letters. The bear then throws the wand into the air. Everything but the logotype and the wand fades into a blue background, and the wand merges with the logotype, becoming part of the letter "X", which extends to the bottom, separating the line formed by the connected "C" and "M". Three stars are seen on top of the "X", arranged diagonally.

Technique: Cel-animation.

Audio: A triumphant fanfare.

Availability: Known to have appeared on the 1992 German VHS release from Warner Home Video of Akira. The short version can be seen on German prints of The Refrigerator.
