Background

Cucubano Films was a Puerto Rican film production company.

Logo (November 2, 2006)

Visuals: On a black background, multiple blurred white dots, one of them being yellow, float in for a few seconds and eventually meet near the lower right center. At that point, the screen flashes yellow. The color shrinks and dims to the abdomen of a crawling firefly. The light flattens and gains jagged edges, followed by "CUCUBANO", in a tall serif font, fading in within its shape and the insect stops moving. The firefly spreads its antennas so that "FILMS", in the same font as "CUCUBANO" slides out of the insect to the right.

Technique: 2D computer animation.

Audio: Nature sounds play before a drum roll leading to a bombastic, synthestiZed orchestral fanfare performance, which ends with an ascending piano stinger.

Availability: The logo is seen on Ruido.
