Background

D'Ocon Films Productions is a Catalonian production company that was founded in the 1970s by Antoni D'Ocon and is headquartered in Barcelona. Over the years it has become infamous for the low-budget values of its shows.

1st Logo (1990-1995)

Logo: Against a green gradient background, a paintbrush appears and paints in the words, "D'Ocon Films Productions", in a script-type font. Different rainbow colours travel through inside the text as the paintbrush leaves. The paintbrush returns and writes "presents/presenta/presente" (in three languages) in the same font, and leaves again. It then zooms in.

Variants:

  • A later version of this logo has the text shorter and has a improved rainbow effect that travels in reverse. "presents" also appears to be a different white font. For the closing logo, the paintbrush animation disappear after it moves up after it wipes in the name.
  • On Slyvan, the background is a orange/yellow graident.
  • On season 1 of Problem Child (an animated TV adaptation of the 1990 family film), the background is a night sky.

Technique: The paintbrush painting the text, the colours of the text.

Music/Sounds: A short cheery tune with pencil noises when the brush swipes in or the opening/ending theme of the show. The later version would have a more triumphant fanfare based on The Frutties theme song instead.

Availability: Very rare. Seen on their shows at the time, but current prints plaster it with later logos.

2nd Logo (1995-2003)

Logo: On a space background, "D'Ocon Films Productions", in the same font as before, zooms out and settles. The text "Presents" fades in underneath shortly after.

Variants:

  • Sometimes, the "Presents" text doesn't appear.
  • A very short version exists.

Technique: The zoom out of the words, the fading in.

Music/Sounds: 2 synth notes, followed by a 7-note trumpet tune adapted from the theme song to The Fruitties, which is remixed from the previous logo's theme (that also may be used from time to time).

Music/Sounds Variants:

  • On Cartoon Network UK airings of the series, it was silent.
  • On some prints of Delfy, just the same short cheery tune was heard from the 1st logo.

Availability: Uncommon. Seen on Pocket Dragon Adventures on DVD, as well as Basketball Fever and on later episodes of The Fruitties. Also seen on Enigma and The Little Witches.

3rd Logo (2003-)

Logo: Over a view of a globe with water on it, the text "D'Ocon Films" flies in and glows and an island is shown on the globe. Everything then glows.

Variant: Some videos (such as trailers) on the D'Ocon Films YouTube channel contain only the last few seconds of the logo.

Technique: The animation is really poor, but it's expectable from the quality of their current cartoons.

Music/Sounds: Same as the second logo, but sounding more like it was done on a MIDI synthesizer and with a more majestic finish.

Availability: Seen on D'Ocon's YouTube channel, and their other shows, like Scruff, and Kumba Island.
