Logo: On a black background, we see a green metallic rectangle pan up, while a laser carves through it. The laser fills the screen, causing a 2nd shot of the rectangle to pop up. We see a flash of white light behind the rectangle, a carved out "D", and the laser carving out a "V". We then fade to a 3rd shot. We see a "C" carved out right next to the "V", and now we see the laser carving out another C. Then, we see the final product zooming out, as it rests in the center of the screen. "Digital Video Compression Center" fades in below.

FX/SFX: The logo being carved by a laser.

Music/Sounds: A laser writing sound appears, then a rhythmic tune plays before it gets tense.

Availability: It's known to appear at the end of some releases from 20th Century Fox and Universal Studios, such as ''Ice Age'', ''Dr Seuss' How The Grinch Stole Christmas'', ''The Drummer'', ''Garfield's Holiday Celebrations'', ''Josie and the Pussycats'', ''Ghoulies 2'', ''High Crimes'',''The Simpsons'' Season 3 box set (On all 4 discs), ''The Girl Next Door'', ''The Sandlot'', ''The Day After Tomorrow'', ''Welcome to Mooseport'', Seasons 1 and 2 of ''X-Files'' on DVD, ''Futurama'' DVDs, ''The Simpsons Gone Wild'',''Man On Fire'', ''Garfield and Friends'' Volume 2 DVD, ''Home Alone 4: Taking Back The House'', Family Guy: Season 1 DVD, and the ''King of the Hill'' Season 1 DVD, among others. MGM also used this logo, such as the DVDs of the first two ''Legally Blonde films, and Escape from New York: Special Edition''. This also appears on the 2003 Extreme DVD of ''Terminator 2: Judgment Day'' from Artisan Entertainment.

Editors Note: This is a nicely animated logo.

2nd Logo (2001-2004)

Visuals: On a black background, the camera pans down to a metallic green plate right as a blue laser starts to cut into it. As the laser takes up the screen, it then cuts to the plate floating over a mass of light, rotating as the laser finishes cutting out the "v" (the "d" is already completed), letting the leftover material fall into the void. It then fades to having a "c" completed, and the laser cutting out a 2nd "c", having its material fall as well, and fully forming the "dvcc" logo from before. The camera then fades to a shot of the logo zooming out and positioning itself over the light, letting the rays illuminate the letters as "Digital Video Compression Center" fades in below. The logo and text continue to emit light rays and the plate shines until the logo fades out.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A buzzing sound followed by a tense rhythmic tune.
