Background

Discord is an online instant messaging and VoIP social platform, with users having the ability to communicate with voice calls, video calls, text messaging, media and files in chats as part of communities called "servers". The platform runs on Windows, macOS, iOS, iPadOS, Android, Linux, and in web browsers.

The platform was launched on May 13, 2015, and is available in 30 languages. As of 2021, the service has over 350 million registered users, and is primarily used by gamers.

Trivia: The symbol is the official mascot of Discord and is named Clyde.

Variants:

  • Originally, the logo had a periwinkle rounded square behind it.
    • At the least the phone startup has this variant, albeit with the logo quickly fading out before fading back in, only with just Clyde.
