Background

Arkane Studios is a French game developer based in Lyon, founded in 1999 by Raphael Colantonio and his three friends, with another studio in Austin opened in 2006. Their first title, Arx Fatalis, was released to critical praise, but was a commercial failure. ZeniMax Media purchased both studios on August 2010.

1st Logo (2006-2012)

Logo: TBA

FX/SFX: The appearance of the stylized "A" and the logo.

Music/Sounds: A series of low whooshes culminating in a loud clash.

Availability: Seen on Dark Messiah of Might and Magic (and the Xbox 360 version subtitled Elements), and Dishonored. A still version (without the shadow) appears on Steam re-releases of Arx Fatalis.

2nd Logo (2016-)

Logo: TBA

Variant: On Prey (2017), after the logo is formed, the "A" abruptly morphs into an alien, which crawls off the screen.

FX/SFX: The animation of the "A", the zoom out. The "A" morphing into an alien on the Prey variant.

Music/Sounds: Two clangs, followed by a electronic whir.

Availability: Seen on Dishonored 2 (along with its stand-alone expansion Death of the Outsider) and the 2017 reboot of Prey.
