Background: Cinemax didn't have a Next on Cinemax ID until 1984.

1st Logo (1984-1989)

Nicknames: "Cheesy Square Cinemax", "The Squares I", "Cheesy Cursive Writer"

Logo: We see some shapes in the background, and while the old "Cinemax" logo fades in with letter by letter of forming the words "Cinemax", and a cheesy cursive writer says "Next on", making "Next on Cinemax". And a movie/show/session name fades in at the bottom. And then after the announcer is finished, the Cinemax logo comes out and zooms into your face (kind of like in-your-face animation)

FX/SFX: The squares moving, and I think that's everything about it!

Cheesy Factor: The squares are cheesy early CGI.

Music/Sounds: A 80s rock tune, and a writing sound, and a jazz sounds appear, and then, a another 80s rock tune when the Cinemax logo comes in your face animation. And whoever is the announcer is announcing the movie's name, plot, and starring cast.

Availability: Extinct; but check for your VHS tapes to have the Next on Cinemax ID/Bumper

Scare Factor: Minimal; the in-your face animation again, can scare a few.

2nd Logo (1989-1997)

Nicknames: "The Animated Filmstrip", "The Squares II"

Logo: We see a filmstrip with scrambled/mixed up words of Next, and then the Cinemax logo is mixed up too. And then, suddenly, Next on and Cinemax logos flies over onto the center, and then later, the "Next on" words disappear mysterious. And, whatever movie or show they are showing goes fades in at the bottom. And then later, after the announcer is finished. The Cinemax logo appears near your face and then, it just flops around. Until the screen is turned black.

FX/SFX: Everything! Again.

Cheesy Factor: The squares are cheesy, and the animated filmstrip looks cheesy.

Music/Sounds: A twinkling sound, and then a rock tune from the 90s, and then it still plays it after the Cinemax logo swashes over.

Availability: Extinct; check on your old DVDs, VHS tapes for this ID.

Scare Factor: Just like the previous logo, it's minimal.

3rd Logo (1997-2001)

Logo: We see Next on and the new Cinemax logo appears on the left top side. And on the right is the genre (like Suspense), and the movie name (like Electra), and the date (like 1995), and it stays there until the feature presentation, or a preview shows up. And it follows with Reasons for Rating screen.

FX/SFX: Everything!

Music/Sounds: A sly acid jazz tune.

Availability: Extinct again; check for your old DVDs or tapes for this bumper.

Scare Factor: None; it's boring!

4th Logo (Late 2001-2003)

Logo:

FX/SFX: Everything

5th Logo (2003-2008)

Nickname: "Dark Cinemax"

Logo: We see a dark black background, with an unknown floor (which looks like liquid floor), and the current Cinemax logo with "max" replaced by "next". And, then, we see whatever movie or show they are showing next appears, and there is the date, genre and duration of the movie, with the actors from the movie written below. And then we see the Cinemax logo from before, making a white flash that changes the word "next" to "max".

FX/SFX: Everything. Pretty nice animation.

Music/Sounds: A very nice electro-rock theme.

Availability: Extinct. Check your old tapes or DVD recordings!

Scare Factor: Low. The "waaaa-waaaaa"s in the music and the dark atmosphere could get to some, but overall it's a great logo with nice animation and good music.

6th Logo (2008-2011)

Nickname: "Boring Cinemax"

Logo: TBA

FX/SFX: TBA

Cheesy Factor: TBA

Music/Sounds: TBA

Availability: Extinct. It was only used for 4 years. Check your old tapes or DVDs!

Scare Factor: TBA.

7th Logo (2011-)

Nicknames: "Simple Cinemax", "Boring Cinemax II", "Uglemax"

Logo: TBA

FX/SFX: TBA

Cheesy Factor: Simple isn't always better, and this logo really shows it. It's ugly, it's very poorly made, and it doesn't have the technical qualities of the 2003 bumper.

Music/Sounds: TBA

Availability: Currently seen on all the Cinemax networks.

Scare Factor: None. It's very boring.
