1st Logo (October 17, 1998-2001)
Visuals: A sun rises quickly from sea, while it reveals the text "DHARMA" with "PRODUCTIONS" under it. When the sun fully rises, the logo stops.
Technique: CGI.
Audio: The opening theme of the movie.
Availability: Seen on Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and other films released by this company from the era.
2nd Logo (December 14, 2001-August 11, 2006)
Visuals: The screen slowly zooms out from a plain steel buddhist statue (Ganesh). As the statue pans slowly to the left, orange fog comes out above the statue, forming the text "dharma productions." The entire logo fades out.
Variant: The fog is sometimes blue.
Technique: CGI.
Audio: A female choir accompanied by some ominous Indian instruments based on the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai main theme from the movie.
Availability: Seen on films released by this company from the era. First seen on Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gham. Also seen in films like Kal Ho Na Ho, Kabhi Abvidaa Na Kehna, among others.
3rd Logo (November 14, 2008-)
Visuals: Over a dark red and yellow background, multiple transparent, yellow stylized sunbeams appear moving in a circle, forming a rotating sun. Larger sunbeams are visible in the background, moving in a similar way, and the large, faded yellow letters "DHARMA" are shown sliding from the right to the left. The sun moves away from the camera and towards the left center of the screen, stopping as the text "DHARMA PRODUCTIONS" appears in yellow letters. The screen slowly darkens as it fades out.
Variants:
- Sometimes, the words "PVT. LTD." are displayed at the bottom of "PRODUCTIONS".
- On the trailer for Bhoot: Part One (2020), the logo is white and gray with a rock-like texture. It is also a still logo superimposed over a ship window from the film.
- On Bhoot: Part One, the logo is reworked. It starts with a camera panning across the dark interior of a ship, with lights flickering on and off. After moving past a "no smoking" notice and a fire extinguisher, a door with a smashed window is shown, before it opens to reveal two red eyes in darkness. After this, the Dharma Productions logo is shown, with the sun being a drawing on a piece of paper and the text being scratched into the wall, with someone's hand shown making the finishing scratch.
Technique: CGI.
Audio: A female choir accompanied by some ominous Indian instruments based on the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai main theme from the movie. Sometimes, it's the opening theme of the movie.
Audio Variant: The Bhoot: Part One version adds a more ominous reworking of the original theme, alongside creaking of a door and scraping metal.
Availability: First seen on Wake Up Sid!, and seen on recent movies released by the company, such as Student of the Year, Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani, Ae Dil Hae Mushkil, Shershaah, and Brahmāstra: Part One – Shiva.
