Background
GMA Network (Global Media Arts or simply GMA) is a Philippine free-to-air television and radio network. It is the flagship property of publicly traded GMA Network, Inc. Its first broadcast on television was on October 29, 1961. GMA Network (formerly known as Republic Broadcasting System, GMA Radio-Television Arts, and GMA Rainbow Satellite Network) is commonly referred to as the Kapuso Network referencing the outline of the company's logo. It is headquartered in the GMA Network Center in Quezon City and its transmitter, Tower of Power, is located at Tandang Sora Avenue, Barangay Culiat also in Quezon City with regional stations and offices strategically located in over 9 major cities across the country.
1st (known) Logo (1979)
Visuals: In a space background (which is from the intro of Star Trek), several metallic models of the GMA "Circle 7" logo can be seen turning sideways, while a model of their 1977 logo zooms in from the bottom-right of the screen. We then (presumably) fade in to the GMA "Circle 7" logo on a white background before cutting to a next scene, which follows the same process as the previous scene. However this time, a model of their slogan, "Where You Belong!" in a fancy font, replaces the 1977 logo.
Trivia:
- The production for this logo costed under ₱100.
- The station ID only took the merchandising team two weeks to make.
Technique: Some clever chroma-keying effects, mixed with the live-action 3D models.
Audio: The background music for this logo is called "Distant Planets", a jingle composed by Pepper Tanner, with Bert Liboon as the announcer.
Availability: The process of how this logo was made and the images of this logo were seen in an article from an August 1979 issue of TV Times.
2nd Logo (1989-1992)

Visuals: Unknown.
Technique: Unknown.
Audio: The logo has a narrator saying: "This is GMA, the Largest, the Most Powerful, & the Best. Now joining the ranks of the World's Finest!" followed by a female rendition of their slogan "Where You Belong!"
Availability: Very few variations of the logo exist. & The only surviving footage is not of its best quality.
3rd Logo (1992-1995)

Visuals: The sequence starts with the previous variant of the 1974 GMA-Radio Television Arts logo, being closed by two CGI hands, then it opens to reveal a rainbow as the screen zooms over it, then we fly over the globe to reveal the Philippine map as it flies upward, only to reveal a silver-CGI man holding the rainbow (presumably God) with the globe under it, then the rainbow fades out with the CGI man morphing to the gradient "GMA" text in Sans Serif with "RAINBOW SATELLITE" stacked under and the slogan "WHERE YOU BELONG" zooming out under the logo.
Technique: CGI.an holding the GMA rainbow.
Audio: An orchestral fanfare with a voiceover narrating the following; "The best becomes bigger and better, with a giant rainbow satellite, it now reaches more towns and more cities in the Philippines and even across Southeast Asia, more than any other television network, the new GMA, giant reach from the new GMA rainbow satellite, now truly, this is where you belong".
Availability: Ultra-rare. Seen before GMA programs from that era.
4th Logo (1995-1997)

Visuals: On a black-space background is a rainbow then GMA NETWORK INC.
Technique: Unknown.
Audio: Unknown.

5th Logo (1995-1998)

Visuals: On a silver wispy background, the 3D GMA text comes out from the background and it zooms up as we segue in to a dark-grey marble background with parts of the GMA Rainbow Satellite logo, minus the "RAINBOW SATELLITE" text, fading in one by one.
Later Variant: After the GMA text zooming up, it then flashes to reveal a starry red-orange planetary background with a purple-blue globe (excluding the continents) moving to the left side with the rainbow colors revealing up, then the other rainbow colors from the logo, zoom out one by one, with the GMA letters following suit, zooming from the top-left corner, along with a satellite flying to its original position, thus spinning it.
Technique: The fading and flying out of the letters, as well as the satellite being animated.
Audio: The early version used an orchestral tune with Al Torres narrating the following; "Patuloy na naglilingkod sa pamilyang Pilipino, sa sambayanan, at sa buong mundo, GMA, on its 45th year of responsible broadcasting". The later version used a Larry Groupe Winds of Courage theme.
6th Logo (September 1998-October 27, 2002)
Visuals: On a clear daytime sky, a light flashes then it dies down to reveal the mirrored "G", then we see it rotating with the other GMA letters rotating along with the rainbow as the screen zooms out to its center position, then under a light flashes with the slogan "WHERE YOU BELONG" appearing under the logo in spaced-out-letters.
Variant: On a Ghost Fighter commercial on the network, a short version of the logo plays with the slogan "WHERE HEROES BELONG" fading under.
Technique: The rotating of the logo.
Audio: A majestic fanfare, sometimes it can be accompanied by Al Torres saying "Ito po ang GMA".
Availability: Seen on programs in GMA Network from 1998 to 2002.
