Background

NTV7 is a free-to-air Malaysian TV channel owned by the Media Prima conglomerate. It was launched on April 7, 1998. The network focused on the Urban area with a variety of programmes, dramas, and news. As of October 2021, NTV7 has been the second most-watched television station in Malaysia.

On February 17, 2021, the channel was rebranded through a takeover as a fully educational TV channel, known as DidikTV KPM.

1st ID (April 7, 1998-April 30, 2000)

Visuals: Over a purple background, multiple 7's and dust particles fly around, with the channel's name briefly being on-screen before fading away. Differently-colored glowing comets then fly in from the left of the screen towards the top right. Sparkles then appear, and a few more comets come in. As the 7's begin to fade away, a multicolored curvy quadrilateral forms near the center of the screen as the text ntv7 zooms onto the quadrilateral letter-by-letter. As the sparkles appear again for a brief time, saluran ceria anda fades in below. The logo shines.

Variants: There are multiple variants of this ident that are currently partially available online. The logo is in 2D and is also different, with the quadrilateral having jagged edges.

  • There is a variant where the logo and the slogan are over an animated hot pink background. Notably, the logo is smaller, and the "r" in "ceria" is yellow instead of purple.
  • There is another variant where the text of the logo spins as the quadrilateral acts like a group of comets shooting. The variant seems to be on a space background.
  • There is a variant commemorating the channel's first anniverary. The logo is on a black background, where the letters of the text "Satu tahun" flip in from the top of the logo. This variant is speculated to have aired around April 1999.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A seven-note piano tune, followed by a seventeen-note synth tune.

2nd ID (May 1, 2000-May 31, 2001)

Visuals: Depending on the color of a background, there is an outlined circle and a "7" in an outlined square with the text "ntv" over it. There are two groups of multiple rainbow lines in the background with programmes in saturated tints passing through it. One or more object(s) then appear in the background, in motion, as the slot name fades in. The object(s) and the slot name fade away, followed by the "ntv" text, as the following slogan fades in and enlarges:

your
amazing
feel good channel

If the ident is in Malay, it reads this:

saluran
ceria
anda

Trivia: The "I Feel Good" vocals in the ident is based on James Brown's 1965 song I Got You (I Feel Good). The phrase said in the ident would become the channel's slogan until 2018.

Variants:

  • There are seven slot variants that aired on the channel
    • Bintang Prima: The logo is on an indigo background, where the circle portion of the logo seems to resemble a planet. Stars fade in and move away from the screen. A light flashes on the right side of the planet. As the sequence moves to the final product, the celestial object turns into the outlined circle.
    • Hiburan Famili: The logo is on a violet background, and there are three lavender blocks stacked above five more at the top left of the screen, which move towards the right. There is a duplicate of the set of blocks at the bottom of the screen, which moves towards the left. The three-row blocks then rotate, spelling "ntv", followed by the five-row blocks, spelling "seven". As the process occurs, five lights appear around the logo and rotate around it throughout the rest of the variant. The set of blocks then fade away.
    • Kids@ntv7: The logo is on a lavender background, and an orange marbles fades in. A blue marble then rolls in from the right of the screen and knocks over the orange one. Many lavender balloons then float in from the bottom of the screen and float upwards.
    • Feel Good Time: The logo is on a golden background, and there is an alarm clock tinted orange rapidly spinning and zooming in towards the screen. In the background, there are more clocks, all having a yellow tint.
    • music on seven: The logo is on a green background, and a speaker in in place of the circle in the logo. The "7" turns into several dust particles which fly away, and pair of headphones appear on the speaker, spinning from fast to slow speed. It then increases its velocity of spinning again, and the dust particles fly back in and reform the numeral.
    • Golden Hour: The logo is on a red background, where there are hand fans opening, with one of them at the center and being the closest to the screen. The golden artwork on the hand fans appear to be dragons.
    • Weekend on 7: The logo is on an orange background, where an orange couch zooms towards the screen as it quickly spins. When the couch settles, it slows down its speed of spinning. After a few seconds, it spins quickly again, and it zooms away from the screen.
      • A version exists where a giant golden TV zooms towards the screen instead as it rapidly spins. There are more yellowish TVs in the background.
  • On promos, the logo turns into footage of a programme. The footage expands to fill up the entire screen. At the end of the promo, the footage shrinks to transition back to the logo sequence where the slogan fades in.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: The theme varies depending on each variant. At the end of the ident features a group of women singing "I Feel Good".

Audio Variants:

  • Bintang Prima: A drum tune, followed by a twenty-two-note rock tune.
  • Hiburan Famili: A drum tune, followed by a twelve-note orchestral tune.
  • Kids@ntv7: So far, it's known to consist of a choir.
  • music on seven: Four beats are first played. The tune then evolves into a tune consisting of beats with some snare drum notes. Glitter sounds are played as the "7" deforms and reforms.
  • Golden Hour: An ambient electronic tune, followed by a male voiceover saying "Hit it!", which makes the tune evolve into a fast drumkit tune, ending with a low-pitched electronic note. The slogan is sung in a higher pitch.

3rd ID (June 1, 2001-2004/2005)

Visuals: In a colorful tunnel, a light flashes, as multiple colored lights shoot towards the screen. The camera rotates to the direction the lights are shooting towards. The camera then moves out of the tunnel, and settles on a purplish blue background, with the lines and saturated programmes from the previous ident. The lights then form a silver Circle 7 logo, which the channel would use until 2018. The remaining lights form the blue portion of the logo, which is inside the circle, and a purple circle with "ntv" written on it forms next to the Circle 7 logo. The logo shines for a brief time before fading, and the following text fades in:

your
feel good
channel

If the ident is in Malay, the slogan is same as the previous ident, as the English slogan was reverted back to the one from when the channel was launched. The gold text moves towards the left, while the orange text moves towards the right.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: Starts off with a twelve-note triumphant fanfare, followed by a group of women singing "I Feel Good". A held note also plays when the women sing the last word.

Visuals: A girl in a white shirt walks by a field and touches tall grass with wind-pollinated flowers near to a tree. She then finds a transparent crystal, which shines. Many violet spheres with butterfly wings fly away from the tree full of flowers. This stuns the girl, who attempts to touch one and covers her eyes. The butterfly spheres fly into a room, where a man is lounging on his chair and is using his iPad. They touch the floor, causing it to ripple, as it if were water, as multiple different types of blue crystal-resembling sea plants and fishes come out of the floor. The man takes a look at a jellyfish and the other fishes that are floating in the air, which form a sphere. The man then spawns a computer-generated swordfish, which flies to cause the fishes to scatter and turn into pink-colored petals, which fly through a window into a room where a woman in a white shirt is sitting on a wheelchair. The woman dances around the petals that surround her, while the girl is stunned by them, as some of the petals come out of the flowers that are sticking out of a vase. The footage then cuts back to the woman from before, more petals are surrounding her, including the ones that popped out of the flowers from the vase. One of the white petals fly towards us and transitions into a scene where a car is about to drive off, with sparkles coming out of it. As the car drives off, we fade into a scene with lavender dust, where there is another man, who is controlling an orange lightning ball, which he throws into the air. Yet another man, who is in a black clothing, shoots a glowing arrow at the ball, causing the latter to explode. Then, there is a woman in a scarlet shirt around the dust and multiple white lightning balls, followed by a shot of the house from before, where there are the first three people we saw prior to the last segment of the ident, along with a woman in a dark blue shirt, who are holding mugs. The objects that floated around in the ident fly into one of the woman's cups. The footage then cuts to a white background, where the dust from before forms the Circle 7 logo, redesigned, as "feel good" fades in below the logo, and the dust disappears.
