Background
Sadia S.A. is a Brazilian food producer founded in 1944 in Concordia, Santa Catarina. The name originates from the acronym of "Sociedade Anônima Indústria e Comércio Concórdia", with Sadia also being a word meaning "healthy" in the Portuguese language. Sadia is known for being the largest producer of frozen goods, meat and poultry products in its country. The company has been a subsidiary of BRF S.A. since 2009.
