From their launch on October 17, 1997, '''Teletoon''' began airing IDs which were based on individual planets with their own unique art-style that changed after a certain period of time passed. Claymation was used for the morning, cel-animation for the afternoon, cut-out animation for the evening, and paper-mache at night. At around mid-August 1998, these were replaced by more generic and normal IDs, many of which were done by [[Guru Studio|Guru Studio]].

===Planet Spin Filler / General ID (1997-1998)===
Background: From their debut all the way to August 1998, Teletoon began airing IDs which were based on individual planets with their own unique art-style that changed after a certain period of time passed. Claymation for the morning, cel-animation for afternoon, collage-animation for the evening, and paper-mache at night. At around August 1998, these were replaced by more generic / regular IDs. Some of them being made by Guru Animation.

Background

From their launch on October 17, 1997, Teletoon began airing IDs which were based on individual planets with their own unique art-style that changed after a certain period of time passed. Claymation was used for the morning, cel-animation for the afternoon, cut-out animation for the evening, and paper-mache at night. At around mid-August 1998, these were replaced by more generic and normal IDs, many of which were done by Guru Studio.

Planet Spin Filler / General ID (1997-1998)


Visuals: On a starry space background, a golden telescope is seen, with the refractor spinning around clockwise once before lifting itself up a little with the aperture pointed right in front of the screen and zooms in with the refractor turn back and forth a little until the camera zooms right into the lens. Through the lens, the telescope focuses on 4 completely different planets, each with their own unique look and set against a barrage of stars:

  • The Morning Planet: A pink planet, rotating counterclockwise on its Y-axis, which is filled with craters either seemingly alive, filled with alien creatures, or vacant.
  • The Afternoon Planet: A metal planet, rotating counterclockwise on its X-axis at a slight angle, which appears to be sketchy, rough, and haphazardly built with multi-colored parts jutting out from the pale blue surface.
  • The Evening Planet: A strange planet, which has a orange/purple gradient sky and has several things going on at once (a dog running around and barking, a person diving in the lake, a mouth attached onto a house eating an oncoming vehicle, etc.). It doesn't seem to rotate and has quite a fisheye look to it.
  • The Night Planet: A blocky planet, rotating clockwise on its X-axis, which appears to be small but has several tall skyscrapers jutting from it, all seemingly dark and deteriorated.

After the Night Planet moves away, the lens zooms in and the Teletoon logo at the time slides in to the left. It consists of "TELE" in a tall blue font with raised tops on the E's (possibly to be cross-compatible for the French version, which has acute accents over them) and "TOON" in a handwritten font, which has filled sections in the O's, blue circles, and a red swish below it, forming a smiling face. The logo also switches through 4 different variants in the same style as their planets. The 2D version has the eyes move, and the paper-mache version has the letters pop forwards, but all of them shake slightly and move a bit.

Audio: A somewhat chaotic and strange tune, with several voices, noises, and instruments heard throughout. When the Teletoon logo appears, a 3-note whistling tune can be heard, which would be the main theme for the channel over the next few years.

Audio Variant: An alternate variant was used later on as a general station ID, with different instruments changing during each planet and much more deranged sounds and noises. The channel's theme at the end of that variant is slightly different as well, with some bizarre voices humming and singing the 3-note tune rather than whistling.

Availability: It was commonly seen on the channel from its inception up until mid-August 1998, and most notably was used on the launch of the channel in the English feed on October 17, 1997.

Morning Planet: Tug-a-War (1997-1998)


Visuals: A pair of muscled punk aliens are seen struggling to pull a rope. The screen then pans to the right to see a red little alien pinching onto the rope only with his right hand while observing its left hand, before facing towards the screen and waving at the viewer. Then the Teletoon logo (smushed into a ball) is seen coming from the top of the screen and is then the ball reverts back into the Teletoon logo. The background behind the logo is blurred and a blue border is seen surrounding it while the letters and the face on the logo starts to shake a little.

Morning Planet: Music (1997-1998)


Visuals: The Morning Planet is seen on a blue, cloudy background with a smiling sun in the distance. The screen then cuts to four aliens, one of them being their maestro. As the maestro starts pointing at one of the aliens, that said alien starts to hold a note, before another one starts holding a higher note, and lastly another one holds a higher note for a while, all singing together in a duo. Eventually, the Teletoon logo appears in the same way as the previous IDs.

Morning Planet: Hot Soup (1997-1998)


Visuals: On a crater filled with what is presumed to be bubbling green soup, a red alien with a headband is seen holding a spoon. The alien scoops a bit of soup with their spoon and blows it right into the screen with the soup covering up the entire screen. Then, a ball is seen that forms into the shaky Teletoon logo (just like the "Tug-a-War" ID).

Audio: The soup bubbling, the alien picking up & blowing on it, and a joyful rendition of the Teletoon theme.

Morning Planet: Slurp (1997-1998)


Visuals: It starts with the same view of the Morning Planet from the "Music" ID. It then cut to its craters (three of them are in different colors) and a yellow alien appears, drinking the craters with a straw before getting sucked in by the straw. Then it zooms in to a dark-blue alien with the straw in its mouth, then a second later, its eyes pop out, showing the Teletoon logo.

Audio: A chorus note as the planet shows up, a slurping sound, a giggling sound as the dark-blue alien appears, and a joyful rendition of the Teletoon theme.

Afternoon Planet: Magnet (1997-1998)


Visuals: The Afternoon Planet is seen on a strange purple space background while all surrounded with floating vehicles. It then cuts to a view of the planet's surface where there are multi-colored buildings and houses. The screen then zooms into the window of a purple/blue house and into a room in the house is a room with the door being seen getting knocked down from a robot after couple of attempts of trying. The robot then steps closer to the screen and grabs a magnet and points it directly towards the screen which then flashes into a different view with it (viewed possibly on some TV screen), the colors turn all green expect for the magnet and the robot's skirt. Two metal nuts are seen getting stuck into the screen from the magnet and then the Teletoon logo appears, with the background behind the logo blurred and the logo shaking a little in a different way.

Audio: A futuristic theme as the planet shows up, robotic noises, metal clanking when the robot hits the door, an array of sounds as the robot approaches, and a sci-fi ish version of the Teletoon theme.

Availability: It was first seen in the French feed on September 8, 1997.

Afternoon Planet: Robots (1997-1998)



Visuals: It starts with the same view of the Afternoon Planet from the "Magent" ID. It then cuts to a robot zapping with his eyes, and chasing other robots. The robot moves again, before the screen goes down to a robotic dog. The dog is sniffing at the robot's foot, then lifts its foot up, peeing on the robot, causing a short circuit. After two seconds, the screen cuts to the dog, with the robot still flashing, After a couple of seconds, the screen becomes blurry and the Teletoon logo zooms out.

Afternoon Planet: Fish (1997-1998)



Visuals: A group of robotic fishes are seen swimming through the sea peacefully. One of the fishes wanders alone, with the screen closing up on it. It then cuts to a robotic whale swimming around and following the fish. After a few seconds, the fish encounters the whale and gets shocked. Before getting a chance to escape, the whale chomps it and burps. Then its eyes form the Teletoon logo, with the whale swimming away and the logo appearing with bubbles floating up from the bottom of the screen.

Audio: A synth layer that sounds similar to the Jaws theme, and then the Teletoon theme after.

Availability: Only a second of this was found in one of Cuppa Coffee Studios' portfolio reels. The full ID was once lost, but has since been uploaded on YouTube.

Afternoon Planet: Bird (1997-1998)


Visuals: A robotic bird is seen flying around a cityscape of sorts. The camera turns to the bird, whose flying gets increasingly faster. The bird hits the screen and breaks with its brain coming out, and it falls down as the Teletoon logo appears.

Evening Planet: Parade (1997-1998)



Visuals: There is an audience of people, animals, and heads on a neighborhood street, some holding balloons with the Teletoon face on it. The audience are watching a parade of a family with musical instruments as bodies. First, there are three of them: a mom with a violin body, a dad with an accordion body, and a boy with a trash can body he uses as a drum who at one point screams. This is followed by a baby with a French horn body and a pacifier in their mouth. The baby take the pacifier out of it's mouth and cries, with the pipe of the french horn with a tongue and a first set of teeth can be seen coming out of their mouth. Shattered specs are seen gathering up to form the Teletoon logo, which shakes a bit.

Audio: The people singing in the parade, the baby loudly saying "wah", and yelling out the Teletoon theme.

Evening Planet: Car (1997-1998)


Visuals: On a road, there is a man and a woman driving in a yellow/white vintage car with the Teletoon logo seen on its license plate. The car runs over a pothole, which triggers the car to rapidly shape-shift into various shapes until is stops shifting and is stuck in a deformed condition. Then, the screen cuts to the back side of the car to show two kids sitting in the back. Afterwards, the Teletoon logo comes into the screen in the same way it did in the "Parade" ID.

Audio: A choir consisting of "aahs", an array of sounds when the car shapeshifts, the spring as the logo forms, and a whistled version of the Teletoon theme.

Evening Planet: Delivery Man (1997-1998)


Visuals: The Evening Planet (now having a teal-colored atmosphere on its surface) is seen on a black background surrounded by floating blenders, flying birds, and insects. It then gets cut to a delivery man with a package walking on a street and whistling. A dog with a human head runs up to him and barks aggressively, startling the man. A giant pig-like monster with old granny glasses and a long red accordion/spring-like body then pops out of the box and eats the dog. Afterwards, the Teletoon logo appears in the same way it did in the "Parade" and "Car" IDs.

Audio: An array of random noises as the planet shows up, the mailman whistling the Teletoon theme, the dog barking and whining, a cartoony spring sound as the pig monster pops up, and a expanded version of the Teletoon theme.

Evening Planet: Picnic (1997-1998)


Visuals: It starts with the same view of the Evening Planet from the "Delivery Man" ID. It then fades in to an array of foods and drinks, before opening up to reveal three strange fly-like creatures having a picnic. One creature notices something and flies away, as another follows and begins to panic. The background becomes blurry as the creature flies towards the screen, and a fly swatter hits the remaining creature, making the Teletoon logo appear.

Night Planet: Windows (1997-1998)


Visuals: The Night Planet is seen on a dark background surrounded by a few other planets. The screen then pans to a cityscape as it peeps through the windows on one building. The first window is an empty room with green lighting on the right. The second window shows a guy wearing a white tank top shaking his hands. The third window shows a woman rising up. The screen then pans to the final window showing a guy taking his tie and glasses off. A woman with a black dress is seen coming from the left of the window and closing the curtain. The sequence then fades in to the shaky Teletoon logo on a black background.

Audio: An ominous theme as the planet shows up, a array of sounds from the zombie-esque humanoids, the green guy saying "Teletoon" backwards, and a spooky variant of the Teletoon theme

Night Planet: Monster (1997-1998)


Visuals: The screen pans down to an area with small buildings. A guy is wearing a black jacket and red pants on the corner of a building and holding a police hat which he then puts on. A red foot with a high heel on is seen around the corner of the building with the leg moving up and down. It then cuts to a close-up of the man moving his eyes to the viewer, before looking back to the foot. The foot is revealed to be attached to a green monster, which starts to slowly hone in on the man until the same Teletoon logo as the previous ID above fades in.

Audio: An ominous theme, the woman's moans, a "bo-do-ding"-like sound effect as the man moves his eyes, the monster's slurping / breathing noises, and a creepy version of the Teletoon theme.

Night Planet: Baby (1997-1998)



Visuals: The screen pans down to an area with small buildings (just like the "Monster" ID). The screen pans further around a baby stroller left on the street, and then it cuts to a different view which reveals a clown-like baby. The screen cuts to a close-up of the baby as it starts to move a little. Its head opens up to reveal a mouth with sharp teeth and further opens up to reveal another set of teeth but turned vertically. The second set of teeth opens up to reveal a leech with a mouth and a pair of teeth on it. The baby jumps into the screen, which causes the screen to turn black as the Teletoon logo fades in (the same one as the two previous IDs).

Audio: A suspenseful horror theme going louder in tone, kids laughing, the baby cooing, a heartbeat, the K-Fee scream in a low pitch accompanied by evil laughing, and a creepy version of the Teletoon theme.

Audio Variant: One variant doesn't have the horror theme.

Night Planet: Checkers (1997-1998)

Visuals: Starts the same as the "Windows" ID, but at the third window, there is a man and a woman playing a game of checkers. After a while, the Teletoon logo appears.

Night Planet: Alley (1997-1998)

Visuals: The screen pans down to an area with small buildings (just like the "Monster" and "Baby" IDs). The screen pans further down to an alley, where a zombie-like man is seen hitting a wall with his head. After a couple of hits, the man stops and looks to his right, which the screen pans to reveal a red foot with a high heel around the corner of the wall. The screen pans back to the man but this time moving his head and hands around. Then, without any warning, it rapidly zooms out to reveal a green monster with the attached leg (from the "Monster" ID) hiding behind the corner of the wall. After that, the screen fades in to the Teletoon logo.

Audio: A haunting theme, head-banging sounds, the creature saying some sounds including "Teletoon" backwards, and a scare chord, followed by an eerie version of the Teletoon theme.

Submarine & Whale (April 22, 2001-2002)


Visuals: There are four fish and a clam underwater with bored expressions. As a submarine gets closer, their eyes widen. The screen zooms into the submarine to reveal that it is the Teletoon logo. The screen zooms out and whale appears following it. The ending shot shows both the Teletoon logo and the whale.

Variant: A short variant exists where it cuts to the whale and the logo submarine.

Audio: Underwater noises at the beginning, chimes as the fishes' eyes widen, the submarine, and a whimsical theme.

Ducks (April 22, 2001-2002)


Visuals: On a forest background full of lakes and trees, it reveals a Teletoon logo with duck legs. It comes out of the grass and waggles its tail. It walks until 3 small Teletoon ducks follow the big one. One Teletoon duck come and bounces and the text "TELETOON its Unreal!" in goofy text.

Technique: Same as "Submarine & Whale", done by Guru Animation.

Audio: A guitar-bass tune with some quack sounds.

Skateboard (April 22, 2001-2002)


Visuals: On an orange background with a skateboard ramp, There is the Teletoon logo as a skateboard, flipping. It flips up and down again and again. It slows down as it shows the front of the Teletoon skateboard.

Audio: A fast upbeat rock tune with some flipping sound effects.

Space (April 22, 2001-2002)


Visuals: On a space background with planets, there is the Teletoon logo zooming in outer space. It reveals the logo is a hanging diffuser in a car, with two aliens riding it. They go inside a blue whirpool. Then it shows the text from the end of the "Ducks" ID.

Audio: A dramatic majestic fanfare, and a rock tune with some horn sounds.

Chickens (2003-2005?)


Visuals: On a green farm background, there are somer chickens, sitting down. Three chickens hatch an egg and stand up. But then a chicken struggles to hatch an egg. Instead of an egg, it hatches a blue Teletoon logo. The two chickens look at the chicken nervously.

Audio: A farm tune with some clucking.

Inuit Surf (2003-2005?)

Visuals: In a blue icy background, there is an Inuit surfing. Two Inuits push a snowball and splashes. The splash creates a wave as the Inuit gets shocked. The Inuit and the surfboard fly up and land on the tiny bit of snow. The surfboard reveals the Teletoon logo. The Inuit giggles.

Audio: A fanfare and the sounds of the Inuit.

Bobsleigh (2003-2005?)


Visuals: Unknown.

Curling (2003-2005?)

Visuals: On a teal background, there is a white and black spotted dalmatian's tail. The dalmatian howls again and again as the curling brooms move around. The rock tries to push the blue rock as they reveal they have the Teletoon logo at the front.

Audio: The sounds of the crowd and the dog howling.

Space Cycles (2003-2005?)


Visuals: On a blue background full of lights, there is a Teletoon logo and blue space cycles racing each other. They go side to side.

Crab Playing Volleyball (2004-2005?)


Visuals: On a sunset background, there is a volleyball fence and a green crab claw tries to pass the volleyball. However, there is only one crab with Teletoon logo passing it by itself again and again.

Audio: A joyful tune with some bumping sound effects.

Old Man (2004?-2005?)


Visuals: On a cyan background with a bench, there is a old man with a walker. He gets a weird heart bump as it turns into heart attack. An ambulance siren is seen, and the old man goes the hospital. The old man dances as he gets to the x-ray, that reveals his heart is now a Teletoon logo.

Audio: The sound of the siren and the old man and an accordion tune.

Inuit Avalanche (2004?-2005?)


Visuals: On a iceberg land an Inuit is seen walking, but suddenly, something rings. The Inuit finds its cell phone from its pocket until it an avalanche comes. Inside an icy piece of snow the Teletoon logo is shown.

Audio: The phone ringing and some shiny sound effects.

Cows (2003-2005?)


Visuals: In a dessert background, a bunch of orange cows eat grass, but then a cow smells something. One cow farted as the other cows run away, only leaving the blue cow with a Teletoon logo.

Audio: A banjo tune, as it gets even faster.

Flytrap (2007-2011)


Visuals: There is the 2007 Teletoon logo, with two flies flying around it. The Teletoon logo gives some venus flytraps with an umbrella. The flies get away from the logo and the some flytraps slaps the flies. The venus flytraps disappear and shows only the Teletoon logo.

Audio: A drum beat and some buzzing of the flies and a slap of the flytrap slapping the fly.

Obstruction (2007-2011)


Visuals: There is a black screen. Then, some robotic arms from the Teletoon logo make a black origami dragon. It zooms to the 2007 Teletoon logo and the robotic arms put the the origami at the right. The origami blows fire at the Teletoon logo. It blows fire two times, and the Teletoon logo roars at the origami as it flies away. White lights appear two times.

Audio: A guitar music with eight notes and stops then one guitar note. At the end, it starts like a radio tone with the same music and roaring and blowing fire from the Teletoon and origami.

Letters (2007-2010)


Visuals: The Teletoon logo from before is shown without letters, before the letters suddently shoot out and land in front of the logo. The robotic arms from the previous ident show up and arrange the letters, mistakenly spelling out "ELTON TOE". After a brief second, they re-arrange the letters to properly spell "Teletoon".

Audio: A boom box music and a big "BANG" from the letters. Some robot moving sounds are heard.

Gusher (2008-2011)


Visuals: There is the Teletoon 2007 logo with a waterspout gusher. The logo tries to get it but it's no use. The logo turns off the waterspout gusher with a tap. The logo tries jump on the oil puddle and a weird mirror of the logo. The logo wipes it off and it's back to normal.

Audio: A guitar tune, with the gusher is some water sounds, the splash from the logo jumping in and wiping sound at the windscreen wiper.

Train (2007-2011)


Visuals: There is the Teletoon logo that crashes after a few seconds with an anvil (which reads 1000kg) and shows a line crash. The logo panics and zips up the line, which reveals a train track. Then a train comes and fits the Teletoon with the O. The track rolls up and it's back to normal. Same as the ID "Obtruction" it has lights repeating three times.

Audio: A cheerful-guitar tune and a falling sound and crash from the anvil. It makes a crumbling sound and a tingling sound whiles zipping. It also makes a train choo-choo noise, and a quiet sound of shoutingcan be heard.
