Background
WSBK (commonly referred as TV38) is a TV station based in Boston, Massachusetts.
1st Logo (????)
Visuals: There are many different animations, usually resulting in forming the WSBK logo from the time (a segmented TV with the V connected to the number 38) at the end:
- Lines: On a black background, blue lines form the TV text, as the camera rotates. When the logo finishes rotating, stars fly in from the sides and light up the logo. "WSBK-TV, Boston" in white fades in below the 38 text.
- Converge: On a black background, several lines of different colors move from left to right. After a bit, three sets of lines wipe over them, and then another set of red lines fly in from the left, while another set of white lines fly in from the right. They converge and morph into the TV38 logo, with the TV text in red. WSBK Boston fades in below.
- Trail: On a black background, a pink trail flies in from the bottom left. The trail then zooms back and flashes, revealing the TV38 logo in purple and salmon colors. The WSBK Boston text from before then fades in below the logo.
- Split Trail: Similar to before, but the TV and 38 text are separated and move in different directions. (The TV text flies from the bottom, while the 38 text flies from the top.)
- Flash: A flash appears, revealing a black version of the TV38 logo. The flash fades out, and then the WSBK Boston text flashes letter-by-letter in different colors, ending in white. The flash then reveals the TV38 text letter-by letter. The TV38 text flashes, filling the logo in red and purple respectively.
- Segments: On a black background, segmented lines in dandelion and pink fly down from the top. They fade out, as the TV38 logo (in the same colors as the segments) fades in. The background then gains a bit of grey. (The WSBK text below also reveals that it has a black shadow.)
- Zoom: On a light grey background, the TV38 logo in crimson red and yellow zoom out a bit. "WSBK Boston" flies from behind the screen letter-by-letter, dissapearing when they reach their position. The WSBK text then appears, this time in yellow. The TV38 text also gains a shadow.
- Blocks: On a black background, many different squares in different colors flash in random locations. More squares appear and get closer to the center. The squares then reveal the TV38 logo in cerulean and tan. "WSBK Boston" then fades in below.
Variants:
- Several different versions of the Trail logo exists, where the TV38 text are in different colors. The text also flies from different directions.
Technique: Depends on the variant, but usually cel animation or Scanimation.
Audio: Depends on the variant.
