Background

EUE/Screen Gems Studios is a film and television studio. In 1996, EUE/Screen Gems made an acquisition by taking over Carolco Pictures' film and production studios in Wilmington, North Carolina. This transaction occurred subsequent to Carolco's declaration of Chapter 11 bankruptcy reorganization. Subsequently, the premises underwent a transformation and emerged as the new headquarters of EUE/Screen Gems Studios. As with EUE/Screen Gems, EUE/Screen Gems Studios today has no relation with Sony Pictures Entertainment nor Columbia Pictures, but still retains the Screen Gems logo.
