Background

Elliot Unger Elliot, Inc. was one of the earliest television commercial production companies, founded in 1948 by brothers Stephen and Michael Elliot. In 1959, Columbia Pictures acquired the company and merged it with their television division Screen Gems, forming EUE/Screen Gems

Leader (1950s-1960s)

Visuals: The typical Society Leader, with the IATSE emblem over a white background popping up for a second before the "PICTURE START" card. Afterwards, during the countdown, a logo card appears from nine to eight. It consists of the circular letter mark "EUE" with the following words over it:

------------ELLIOT, Inc.

Below is "414 WEST 54th ST., N.Y.C."

Technique: Cel animation.

Audio: The "2-pop" beep.

Availability: This leader is seen on a 16mm reel of the 1960s television show The Donna Reed Show.
