Background
Emmett/Furla/Oasis Films/EFO Films, previously known as Emmett/Furla Films and Oasis Ventures Entertainment separately, is an American film and television production and financing company founded by Randall Emmett and George Furla in 1998.
1st Logo (January 22, 2003-April 8, 2008)
Visuals: On a black background, a lightened blue box appears. It faces its light to the screen as it expands, and later reveals the letters "E" and two "F"s. The text "EMMETT/FURLA" appears above. Meanwhile, the light of the box dims as it reveals the normal logo, with the letters white, and some blue gradient boxes seen next to the bottom of the "F"s. The spaced out "FILMS" also appears below. The gradient boxes flash.
Variant: A shortened version exists.
Technique: CGI.
Audio: None or the closing theme to the movie/TV program.
Availability: Seen on such films as Blind Horizon, Control, 16 Blocks, The Wicker Man (2006), and The Contract.
2nd Logo (January 4, 2011-September 21, 2012)
Visuals: On a white background, there is a dark gray box containing the "EFF" symbol with fully visible letters and boxes. The text "EMMETT/FURLA" and "FILMS" are placed respectively above and below the box.
Variants:
- On Lay the Favorite, the text is removed.
- A custom variant was seen on Catch.44, where the bars are red and the letters are completely white.
- On End of Watch, the logo is placed on a black background and zooms in.
Technique: A still graphic.
Audio: None.
Availability: Appeared on some movies like Gun, Catch.44, End of Watch and Lay the Favorite.
3rd Logo (January 18, 2013-)
Visuals: There is an industrial zone with a huge city behind it, at sunset. The camera moves down to the rails, as a train moves in. When the camera gets closer to the train, it turns to its side, as the paint of the train reveals some blue lines, and the background changes to black. The blue line moves while the letters "E", "F" and "F" are shown thanks to the fast movement of the lines. The whole logo is revealed after the lines disappear, with the blue gradient boxes next to the "F"s, just like the previous one.
Variants:
- There's also a still variant.
- A later variant has an "O" (which stands for Oasis) replacing the second "F". Also, one of the boxes has been moved to the "E".
Technique: CGI.
Audio: An ominous beat, followed by train chugging sounds, ending with an ominous synth tune. Otherwise, the opening theme of the movie.
Availability: The logo debuted on Broken City. Also seen on 2 Guns, Escape Plan, Lone Survivor, and Inconceivable, among other films.
