Background

Emshell Producers was founded in 1986, notable for producing the Ernest movies.

1st Logo (May 22, 1987-October 11, 1991)

Visuals: On a black background, there is a small blue box with a shell in it. Below are the words "EMSHELL PRODUCERS GROUP". Sometimes "A" and "PRODUCTION" appear above and below the words.

Technique: None.

Audio: None or the opening theme of the movie. On Ernest Saves Christmas, however, it had a synthesized fanfare with tinkling sounds.

Availability: Seen on Ernest Goes to Camp, Ernest Goes to Jail, and Ernest Saves Christmas.

2nd Logo (November 12, 1993-February 24, 1998)

Visuals: The screen pans across a sandy beach while crossfading into other panning shots of the same beach. Then, we zoom out as a shadow of a seashell appears, as a blue seashell floats and zooms out. The background shrinks into a box on a black background while the seashell pokes out of the box. "EMSHELL" and "PRODUCERS" are seen next to the box in a thin white font.

Variant: Earlier films with this logo have the word "PRESENTS" fading in under the box.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: Waves crashing and seagulls.

Availability: Seen on Ernest Rides Again, Ernest Goes to School, Slam Dunk Ernest, Ernest Goes to Africa, and Ernest in the Army.
