Background

Epitome Pictures (later known as DHX Studios Toronto) was a Canadian television production company based in Toronto, Ontario. It was founded by Linda Schuyler and Stephen Stohn in 1992. In 2016, Epitome was absorbed into DHX Media (later WildBrain), and the Epitome name and branding ceased. On April 2, 2019, DHX announced plans to sell the Bartley Drive studio for $12 million, as part of their intentions to streamline its physical operations across Canada.

1st Logo (January 11, 1995-April 22, 2011)

Visuals: On a black background, a T-shaped torch flies into view and reveals a grainy wall, first orange, than a beige color. As the torch flies in, shadows are seen coming into focus forming "EPI OME" in a similar font to the torch. "PICTURES INC." is seen below the second half. The shadowy words settle, forming the word "EPITOME" with the torch. The torch rests along the wall as the screen fades out.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: Fire blazing.

Availability: It can be seen on Liberty Street, Riverdale (not to be confused with the CW series), Instant Star and pre-2011 episodes of Degrassi: The Next Generation.

2nd Logo (July 18, 2011-July 31, 2015)

The flame keeps moving as everything but the flame fades out.

Variant: Starting in 2014, a DHX Media byline appears below.

Technique: 2D CGI.

Audio: Similar sounds to the previous logo.
