Background

Essex Pictures Company was an American adult film production and distribution company. One of their more notable releases is the 1976 erotic musical Alice in Wonderland. Essex also distributed several foreign non-adult films in the US. They would later produce porn on video under Essex Select Video and Essex Video.

Logo (June 11, 1976-1978)

Visuals: On a blue background, a gold emblem is seen, consisting of two drama masks (a comedy and a tragedy mask), encased within a combination of the male and female symbols. After a few seconds, "ESSEX PICTURES COMPANY" appears above the masks, "ESSEX" in a lined, connected font (the Yagi Double font). "PRESENTS" then slowly zooms in below the masks.

Audio: The opening theme of the film.
