Background

Euston Films was a British film and television company, originally formed by Thames Television, and headed by Lloyd Shirley, George Taylor and Brian Tester in 1971. It didn't use a logo until the early 1990s. The company went defunct in 1994, barely a year after Thames lost its ITV franchise. The company was revived in 2014 by FremantleMedia, who is the current owner of Thames.

1st Logo (1990-1994)

Logo: On a white background, we see an image of the railway train passing by. Below it was either the words "A EUSTON FILMS PRODUCTION FOR THAMES TELEVISION" or "A EUSTON FILMS PRODUCTION FOR CENTRAL" in black, along with a copyright date.

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: The end theme of the show.

Availability: Rare. Seen on original ITV broadcasts of later episodes of Minder. Current prints do not use a logo.

2nd Logo (January 6, 2018-March 9, 2020)

Logo: On a black background, a yellow flash of light forms. The outlined word "EUSTON" in yellow fades in, followed by the golden word "FILMS". Part of the light disappears and encloses it into a circle. The Fremantle byline is shown below. The logo shares the screen with other logos.

Bylines:

  • 2018: "Part of FremantleMedia UK"
  • 2020: "Part of Fremantle"

Variant: On Baghdad Central, the logo is still, and the Fremantle logo is shown next to the logo.

FX/SFX: The light flashing.

Music/Sounds: The end theme of the show.

Availability: Seen on Hard Sun and Baghdad Central.

3rd Logo (October 14, 2019-)

Logo: On a black background, we see two orange overlapping circles. The word "EUSTON FILMS" is shown next to the logo, in orange with "E", being in black and part of the circle. The byline "Part of Fremantle" is shown below the logo. The logo shares the screen with other logos.

Variant: On The Sister, the Fremantle logo is shown next to the logo.

FX/SFX: None.

Music/Sounds: The end theme.

Availability: Seen on The Dublin Murders and The Sister.
