Background

Fortissimo Films is a multi-national film production, sales and distribution company. It was founded in 1991 in Amsterdam by Wouter Barendrecht and Helen Loveridge. The company has been involved with the production of independent movies and stuff from Hong Kong.

1st Logo (Early 2000s-2003)

Visuals: On a black background, "FORTISSIMO" in teal is seen, with "FILM SALES" to the right of it; "FILM" is stacked on top of "SALES". Below is "PRESENTS".

Technique: A still, printed image.

Audio: The opening theme of the movie.

Availability: It was seen on early international releases, such as Party Monster, but it's likely to be plastered over or replaced by other distributors.

2nd Logo (September 25, 2003-2007)

Visuals: On a blue background, there are many copies of "FORTISSIMOFILMS" sliding from the left with different speed and in varied distances. One of them remain on the screen.

Technique: Sliding effects.

Audio: A clanking orchestral composition with piano string added near to the end.

Availability: It was seen on Japanese Story, Snow Cake, Shortbus and Ploy.

3rd Logo (December 12, 2008-2019)

Visuals: On a deep blue space, there is a cloud of transparent letters, which float and take their places in the logo.

Technique: CGI.

Audio: A piano and violin tune, which is actually a sped-up and rearranged rip from the previous logo.

Audio Variant: On some films such as $9.99, the opening sound of the movie is heard.

Availability: This logo tends to plaster old ones. Seen on $9.99 and their films from the period.

4th Logo (2019-)

Visuals: On a black background, many red-orange gradient rounded lines are seen zooming in while rotating and expanding each other's copies. Then they merge, as the stacked words "FORTISSIMOFILMS" fade in above the line.

Technique: 2D CGI.

Audio: A dramatic piano tune.

Availability: The logo is seen on their recent films, such as Super Me.
